Talent Recruitment Announcement of the Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

Based on work requirements, the Institute of Marxism Studies (IMS) is now conducting an open recruitment for staff members.

I. Categories of Personnel to be Recruited Postdoctoral researchers completing their term in 2019 and currently employed personnel within the Beijing municipality.

II. Basic Conditions

  1. Comply with the Constitution and laws.
  2. Support the Party’s basic line [1] and the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics; maintain the correct political and academic direction; possess a sound style of study [2], moral cultivation, and professional ethics; and practice integrity and self-discipline.
  3. Possess the professional research capabilities or technical skills required for the position.
  4. Be in good physical and mental health, meet the requirements of the position, and ensure the ability to work full-time during the term of employment.
  5. Generally, candidates should not exceed 40 years of age.

III. Recruitment Positions and Requirements (1) Research Positions

  1. Possess a doctoral degree.
  2. Possess a solid foundation in professional theoretical knowledge, high professional literacy, and strong research capabilities; have proficiency in one or two foreign languages; and be committed to pursuing academic research.
  3. Relevant fields: Sinicization of Marxism, history of the development of Marxism, Marxist political economy, Marxist views on religion, world socialism, foreign Marxism, the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, ideological and political education, and history of the CPC and Party building.

(2) Website Editorial Position

  1. Possess a master's degree or higher and a Beijing hukou [3].
  2. Possess a background in Marxist theory or related/affiliated disciplines.
  3. Able to operate common webpage production software and internet search tools; possess knowledge regarding website development, operation, and maintenance.

IV. Compensation and Benefits

  1. Recruited personnel will be incorporated into the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) employment system, and an employment contract with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will be signed.
  2. Compensation will be implemented in accordance with the corresponding CASS salary and welfare policies.

V. Recruitment Procedures Submit personal résumé and the "IMS Applicant Information Form" → Preliminary screening followed by notification for the written examination → Candidates who pass the written examination will participate in an interview → Physical examination and investigation [4] → Determination of preliminary candidates → Preparation of relevant materials for submission to the CASS Personnel and Education Bureau for expert review organized by the Bureau → Approval of review → Public notification → Signing of the employment contract.

VI. Registration Time, Method, and Precautions

  1. Applicants should provide the following materials: "Institute of Marxism Studies, CASS Applicant Information Form" (see attachment), personal résumé, 1–2 representative papers, and photocopies of ID cards, award certificates, and other materials. One hard copy and one electronic copy of the application materials must be submitted (only hard copies of representative works should be submitted; electronic versions are not required). Hard copies should be sent via "China Post" express mail.   2. The registration deadline is August 31, 2019. Applications will not be accepted after this date.

  3. Regarding the time and location of the written examination and interview, the Personnel Office will notify participants by telephone in advance. Details will concurrently be announced on the "Marxist Research Website" (myy.cass.cn). Applicants are requested to pay close attention to telephone, SMS, and website information. Any consequences resulting from an individual's failure to monitor relevant information in a timely manner shall be the responsibility of the applicant.
