Invitation to the Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

The "Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," jointly organized by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Shandong University of Technology, and hosted by the Department of Marxist Development Research of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies and the School of Marxism at Shandong University of Technology, will be held from November 15 to 17, 2019, at the Xingyuan Hotel in the International Exchange Center of Shandong University of Technology in Zibo, Shandong Province. We sincerely invite our colleagues to attend this conference and welcome submissions of papers centered on the conference theme for discussion.

I. Conference Theme Academic Forum on the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China [1] and Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

II. Reference Topics

  1. Research on the significant meaning and historical contributions of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  2. Research on the adherence to and development of Marxism within Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  3. Research on the historical experience of the 70-year Sinicization of Marxism.
  4. Research on the historical experience of the Chinese Communist Party’s self-revolution and social revolution. [2]
  5. Research on the evolutionary process and primary basis of the principal contradiction [3] in Chinese society since the founding of New China.

III. Conference Time and Location

  1. Conference Time: Registration on November 15 (Friday), conference sessions on November 16 (Saturday), and departure on November 17 (Sunday).
  2. Conference Location: Xingyuan Hotel, Shandong University of Technology (West Campus) (located within the campus at No. 266 Xinchun West Road, Zhangdian District, Zibo City, Shandong Province).

IV. Other Matters

  1. No registration fee will be charged for the conference. Participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses. Hard-copy invitation letters may be collected at the conference site.
  2. Please send paper submissions and the conference participation receipt to the email lgliuqin@126.com by November 8, 2019. The organizing committee will send official invitations based on the submissions.
  3. Participation in the seminar is contingent upon paper submission; selected papers will be compiled and published after the meeting. Electronic paper files should be titled "Author Name + University + Article Title." Submissions must be formatted in Word, not exceeding 8,000 characters. Articles must include a Chinese title, author's name and affiliation, abstract, and keywords. Citations should use footnotes in Size 5 SimSun font, with numbering restarted on each page.
  4. Transportation Routes: (1) Railway Station: Zibo Station: Take Bus No. 7 to the East Gate of the West Campus; or take a taxi to the East Gate (approximately 15 RMB). Zibo North Station: Take Bus No. 229, transfer to No. 222; or take a taxi to the East Gate (approximately 30 RMB). (2) Long-distance Bus Station: Take Bus No. 2 to the West Gate or North Gate of the West Campus; taxi starting fare is 8 RMB. (3) Route from the campus gates to Xingyuan Hotel: From the East Gate, go straight west for approximately 800 meters; it is on the left. From the West Gate, go straight east for approximately 1,500 meters; it is on the right.
