To the faculty of the Institute of Marxism Studies (CASS):
We are hereby forwarding to you the “Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Registration and Submission of Publications Resulting from National Social Science Fund of China Projects” (Social Science Work Office Circular [2020] No. 21) issued by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences [1] and transmitted by the Bureau of Scientific Research [2]. Faculty members who possess research outputs from National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) projects are requested to provide their results in accordance with the requirements.
The specific matters of attention are as follows:
Regarding Research Outputs: “Final results of various types of National Social Science Fund projects publicly published in the name of the National Social Science Fund” refers to outputs that clearly identify or explicitly state they were funded by the NSSFC. Outputs that are results of NSSFC projects but lack such clear identification or description, or outputs that the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences has instructed “must not be published in the name of the National Social Science Fund,” are not included in this registration and submission.
Regarding the Quantity to be Submitted: In accordance with the requirements of the notice from the Bureau of Scientific Research, for all published outputs submitted to the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, one additional set must simultaneously be submitted to the Bureau of Scientific Research. Therefore, the quantity of outputs to be submitted is as follows: For project results concluded between 2012 and 2019, submit three sets after formal publication; For project results concluded in or after 2020, submit four sets after formal publication; For project results concluded before 2012, two to three sets may be submitted on a voluntary basis.
Regarding the Timeline for Registration and Submission: Project leaders must complete their registration on the “National Social Science Fund Research Innovation Service Management Platform” before September 20, 2020. For outputs published before August 31, 2020, the results must be delivered to the Scientific Research Office [3] before September 20, 2020. For outputs published after August 31, 2020, project leaders must register them online within one month of formal publication and deliver the results to the Scientific Research Office. The Scientific Research Office will mail these to the China Modern Book Design Museum (China National Publications Infrastructure) [4] on a regular monthly basis.
