Call for Papers and Notice of Outstanding Achievement Awards for the 10th National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 11th National Youth Forum on Marxist Economics

The year 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the inaugural year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" [1]. Our nation is set to embark on a new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country. To comprehensively summarize the glorious course of China's economic and social development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China; to organize and analyze the significant contributions of Marxist political economy to China’s economic development; to persist in and improve the basic socialist economic system; and to further promote the construction of political economy with Chinese characteristics and the enrichment and development of Marxist political economy theory, the "10th National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 11th National Youth Forum on Marxist Economics" is scheduled to be held in mid-to-late July 2021 at Inner Mongolia Normal University. The forum intends to adopt a "1+4+3" exchange and discussion model: namely, 1 plenary keynote report, 4 sub-forum report sessions, and 3 academic exchange sessions (a dialogue for young scholars, an exchange session on the discipline construction of political economy and youth development, and an exchange session between academic journals and young scholars).

The theme of this forum is "The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and the Development and Important Contributions of Marxist Political Economy." It will focus on, but is not limited to, the following research topics:

  1. A Century of Economic Theoretical Innovation and Practice by the Communist Party of China
  2. Research on the Sinicization of Marxist Political Economy and its Guiding Value in the New Era
  3. Textual Research on the Classical Works of Marxist Political Economy
  4. Political Economy Research on the International Economic Landscape and New Changes in Contemporary Capitalism
  5. Research on High-Quality Development and the Construction of a Modern Economic System
  6. Research on the Integrated Development of the Digital Economy and the Real Economy
  7. Research on the World Review of Political Economy and Foreign Marxist Economic Theory

We welcome active submissions from researchers in national scientific research institutions, higher education institutions, Party and government departments, and other units. We encourage and support master's and doctoral students interested in Marxist political economy to actively submit papers and attend the conference.

In addition to the main text, submitted papers must include an abstract, keywords, author biography, contact phone number, email address, and other information, and must not have been previously published. The submission deadline is June 1, 2021. The forum will convene a review meeting in mid-to-late June 2021 to deliberate on the submitted papers. The review panel will primarily consist of experts in the field, heads of core journals, members of the forum’s executive committee, and members of the secretariat. Authors of selected papers will receive a formal invitation letter in early July. Outstanding submitted papers will be recommended to relevant journals such as Marxist Studies, Teaching and Research, World Review of Political Economy, Political Economy Research, Contemporary Economic Research, Political Economy Review, Economist, Studies on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Red Flag Manuscript [3], Study and Exploration, Economic Review, Reform, Western Forum, and Reform and Strategy.

To encourage young scholars to devote themselves to academic research and innovation, this forum will conduct an evaluation of outstanding achievements. Approximately 10 outstanding achievements will be selected from the submitted papers (with a focus on lecturers, master’s, and doctoral students), including 2 first-class achievements, 3 second-class achievements, and 5 third-class achievements. Honorary certificates and awards will be presented at the opening of the forum. The list of winners will be announced, and their achievements promoted, on the forum's WeChat public account, "Majing Qingnian" (Marxist Economics Youth).

No conference fees will be charged for this meeting. Transportation, accommodation, and other expenses during the conference shall be borne by the participants.
