[Academic Announcement] 21st Century Marxism Lecture Series (Lecture 2)
The "21st Century Marxism Grand Lecture Series," hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), will hold its second lecture on April 8. Researcher Zhu Jiamu—former member of the CASS Leading Party Members’ Group, former Vice President of CASS, and former Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director of the Institute of Contemporary China—will deliver a keynote lecture titled "Looking at the CPC’s Unswerving Adherence to its Original Aspiration and Mission through its Centenary History of Struggle."

Biography of Comrade Zhu Jiamu: Zhu Jiamu, born in 1946 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, is a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a Senior Researcher. In 1970, he graduated from the Department of CPC History at Renmin University of China. In 1975, he worked in the Theory Group of the Political Research Office of the State Council [1]. In 1977, he served as secretary to Hu Qiaomu [2], and in 1980, he worked in the Bulletin Group of the Research Office of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat. In 1981, he served as secretary to Chen Yun [3] (assuming the position of Head of Chen Yun’s Office in February 1982). In 1985, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Tianjin Port Authority. In 1987, he served as Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the CASS Graduate School. In 1990, he was transferred to the Central Party Literature Research Institute (CPLRI) [4], where he served successively as Head of the Comprehensive Group, Member of the Institute’s Committee and Secretary-General, and Director of the Fourth Editorial and Research Department. In 1999, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Central Party History Research Centre [5] and President of the CPC History Press. From December 2000 to April 2012, he served as a member of the CASS Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of CASS, as well as Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director of the Institute of Contemporary China. From 2001 to 2013, he concurrently served as the Executive Deputy Head of the China Local Chronicles Guidance Group. He currently serves as President of the Association for the National History of the People’s Republic of China, Chairman of the Council for the "Chen Yun and Contemporary China" Research Center at CASS, Distinguished Curriculum Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delegate to the 14th and 15th CPC National Congresses, and member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
