Call for Papers: The 8th Forum on the Theory and Practice of Ruling Party Building
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Organization Department of the CPC Xiangyang Municipal Committee will jointly host the "8th Forum on the Theory and Practice of Governing Party Building" in Xiangyang, Hubei Province, from May 28 to 30, 2021. We cordially invite colleagues from the academic community and practitioners to draft papers centered on the forum's theme and to take time from their busy schedules to attend the seminar.

- The great journey and great achievements of the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years.
- The original aspiration and founding mission of the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years.
- The experience of ideological Party building, strengthening the Party through theory, and institutional Party governance of the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years.
- Experience and insights into the management and governance of the Party by the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years.
- The self-revolution [1] of the Communist Party of China over the past 100 years.
- The great spiritual lineage [2] and essential characteristics of the Communist Party of China.
- Explorations by the Communist Party of China to escape the historical cycle [3].
- The laws of governance of the Communist Party of China.
- New challenges for the Communist Party of China on the New Journey [4].
- Research on other aspects of Party building.
III. Time and Location (1) Time: Registration on May 28 (Friday); Conference on May 29 (Saturday); Departure on May 30 (Sunday). (2) Location: Minfa Ruiqi Hotel, Xiangyang, Hubei (No. 21, Haoranhe West Road, Dongjin New District).
IV. Other Matters
- The forum does not charge a conference fee; participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses. Hard-copy invitation letters can be collected on-site after the session on the afternoon of May 29.
- Please send the call for papers and the conference participation receipt to djcass@sina.com by May 3, 2021. The conference committee will send formal invitations based on the quality of the manuscripts.
- Participation in the forum is based on the submission of a paper. After the meeting, selected papers will be published in a collection or recommended to relevant core journals. The electronic file name of the paper should be "Author Name + University (Unit) + Article Title." Contributors should choose their own topics and perspectives based on the theme, ensuring adherence to the correct political and academic orientation. Papers must be original research results that have not been publicly published, with a length preferably between 6,000 and 10,000 words. Please use Word software for formatting, include 3–5 keywords and an abstract of within 300 words. Citations should use footnotes at the bottom of the page, renumbered on each page. For specific details, please refer to the publication format of the journal Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu). Please attach personal information at the end of the text, including author biography, professional title, position, contact phone number, and email address.
- Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, conference details may be subject to adjustment. Applicants are requested to maintain timely contact with the conference organizers.
