Socialism with Chinese Characteristics from the Perspective of the Centenary of the Communist Party of China
On June 6, as the Communist Party of China (CPC) welcomed its centenary [1], the 6th High-Level Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was held at the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee. The forum was co-hosted by the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, and the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, with assistance from the School of Marxism at Zhejiang University City College and the Hangzhou Research Center for Primary-level Party Building. The theme of this forum was "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the Perspective of the Party's Centenary." Over one hundred experts and scholars attended the meeting, hailing from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the CCP Central Party School (National Academy of Governance), Renmin University of China, East China Normal University, Sichuan University, the Party School of the Beijing Municipal Committee, as well as relevant institutions from Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou City.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Gong Yun, Deputy Director of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies and Executive Deputy Director of the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, delivered remarks and a keynote speech titled "The Centenary CPC’s Exploration of the Path to Common Prosperity." Chai Ningning, Executive Vice President of the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee, delivered a speech, and Vice President Zhai Huiqing presided over the opening ceremony.

Following the opening ceremony, several experts delivered plenary speeches providing in-depth theoretical expositions. These included Professor Liu Jianhui, former Deputy Dean of Education at the CCP Central Party School (National Academy of Governance); Professor Yao Huan, former member of the School Committee and Director of the Department of Party History and Party Building at the Party School of the Beijing Municipal Committee; Professor Liu Jianjun, doctoral supervisor at the School of Marxism, Renmin University of China; Qi Weiping, Lifelong Professor and doctoral supervisor at East China Normal University; Professor Han Qiang from the School of Marxism, Beijing Union University; and Professor Chen Xiaolin, Vice President of Jinggangshan University.
Their speeches were respectively titled: "The Historic Contributions of the Centenary CPC," "'A Centenary Great Party, Everlasting Brilliance'—Reflections on the CPC’s Success from the Perspective of Political Culture," "Reflections on the Relationship between the New Era, the New Development Stage [2], and the Primary Stage of Socialism [3]," "The Logic of the Formation of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics," "The Historical Process and Contemporary Enlightenment of the Basic Approaches to Party Building," and "Resolutely Achieving the 'Two Upholds'." The experts' presentations featured distinct themes, profound conceptions, and clear logic, demonstrating strong ideological character and instructional value.

In the afternoon, participating experts and scholars conducted group discussions and interactions centered on four themes: "The Great Journey and Valuable Experience of a Centenary Great Party," "The Ideological and Theoretical Building of a Centenary Great Party," "The Organizational and Institutional Building of a Centenary Great Party," and "Improving the Quality of Academic Journals in the New Era." Delegates spoke freely about their academic research perspectives and engaged in full academic exchange. Finally, Professor Gao Guofang, Dean of Education at the Party School of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee, provided a summary of the conference.

The convening of this high-level forum coincided with the entire Party's in-depth promotion of Party history study and education [4]. The theme focused on the glorious journey of the hundred years since the Party’s founding and the valuable experience of governance. It carried out expanded research and exchange on the Party’s political building, ideological building, organizational building, work style building, discipline building, and institutional building, as well as various aspects of the Party’s leadership over economic and social development. Through this special academic deliberation and exchange, participants looked back together at the centenary journey and codified the valuable experience of the Party's hundred-year history. This served to clarify principles to increase confidence, and to honor virtue to practice earnestly [5]. By summarizing this glorious journey and these rich practical samples, the forum sought to continuously sublimate new theoretical achievements and open up new frontiers of practice.
