Notice on the Theoretical Symposium for Studying and Implementing the Spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Speech at the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China

In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and to thoroughly carry out Party history study and education [1], the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Jiangxi Normal University, and the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era have decided to jointly organize a theoretical symposium. The relevant matters for the meeting are hereby notified as follows:

I. Theme of the Conference Studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

II. Specific Topics (Specific titles to be determined by the author)

  1. Research on the Great Founding Spirit of the Party [2].
  2. Research on the great significance of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
  3. Research on the themes, great achievements, and basic experiences of the Communist Party of China’s century of struggle.
  4. Research on the action program for the Communist Party of China’s new journey.
  5. Research on socialist whole-process people’s democracy.
  6. Research on the logical relationship between "the Communist Party of China can," "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics is good," and "Marxism works" [3].
  7. Research on persisting in combining the basic tenets of Marxism with China’s specific realities and with China’s fine traditional culture [4].
  8. Research on the new path of Chinese-path modernization and the common values of all humanity.
  9. Research on strengthening the great unity of the Chinese sons and daughters and conducting the great struggle with many new historical features [5].
  10. Research on developing contemporary Chinese Marxism and 21st-century Marxism.
  11. Research on advancing the new great project of Party building.
  12. Research on the "new journey to face the examination" to realize the Second Centenary Goal [6].
  13. Other topics related to the theme of the conference.

III. Time and Location

  1. Conference Time: October 29 to 31, 2021. Registration on the 29th, full-day sessions on the 30th, and departure on the 31st.
  2. Conference Location: White Deer Guest House (Bailu Huiguan), Jiangxi Normal University (located within the Yaohu Campus of Jiangxi Normal University, No. 99 Ziyang Avenue, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province).

V. Participation Methods

  1. Participation is based on the submission of papers; experts and scholars are invited to write papers centered on the conference theme and topics. Paper requirements are as follows: (1) Guided by Marxism, with a clear theme, reflecting academic rigor and innovation; (2) Must include an abstract (approx. 400 words), keywords (3-5), author profile (name, gender, affiliation, professional title, position), and detailed contact information (address, telephone, e-mail) before the main text; (3) For the main text, please refer to the submission style of Marxismus Yanjiu (Marxist Studies); (4) Length should be approximately 8,000 words, requiring standardized citations and accurate quotations.
  2. Please send papers in Word document format to the conference email: mkszyxy0701@163.com. The file should be named as "Name + Affiliation + Paper Title." The submission deadline is October 15, 2021.
  3. The conference committee will issue formal invitations to authors of selected papers. A collection of papers will be formally published after the meeting, and excellent papers will be recommended for publication in important journals such as Marxismus Yanjiu.

VI. Conference Information

  1. Participants are requested to send the receipt to the conference email mkszyxy0701@163.com before October 15 to facilitate arrangements by the committee.
  2. No conference fee will be charged; transportation and accommodation costs are to be borne by the participants.
