Speaker: Yan Xiaofeng Theme: Integrating the Basic Tenets of Marxism with China’s Excellent Traditional Culture Time: Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 9:30 AM Venue: Hall 1345, Research Building, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Headquarters

Yan Xiaofeng is the Dean ^[1], Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Marxism at Tianjin University. He serves as a member of the Marxists Theory Research and Construction Project ^[2] Advisory Committee and is a member of the Central Lecturing Group for Party History Learning and Education. He is the Vice President of the China Association of Historical Materialism and President of its Research Council on Socialist Modernization. Furthermore, he is an invited researcher of the National Research Association on Party Building, an expert on the Subject Planning and Review Group of the National Social Science Fund of China, and a review expert for the National Publication Foundation. He acts as the chief expert for major projects under the Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project and the National Social Science Fund, as well as a specially invited researcher at the Ministry of Education’s Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance from the State Council ^[3], has received the Army Award for Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent, and has been awarded a Second-Class Merit ^[4] once. He has been selected for the "Library of Theoretical Study: Collected Works of Theorists" compiled by the Central Propaganda Department.
