Researchers from the CSS Department of the Academy of Marxism, CASS, Visit Wenquan Town, Haidian District for a Party History Education Theme Activity and Rural Revitalization Survey
On October 14, 2021, Shen Yang, Director of the Research Office of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics within the Department of Marxist Sinicization Research at the Institute of Marxism Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), led members of the research office to Wenquan Town, Haidian District. The visit was conducted to carry out a Party branch thematic activity on Party history education [1] and to perform field research on rural revitalization. Baijiatuan Village in Wenquan Town and Luobang (Beijing) Commercial Management Co., Ltd. placed great importance on this research activity. Gao Shengli, Secretary of the Baijiatuan Village Party Branch, Zhang Jiqiang, General Manager of Luobang (Beijing) Commercial Headquarters, and representatives from Henan Zhengyun Agriculture accompanied and assisted throughout the investigation.
In the morning, the research office delegation held a symposium with responsible comrades from Baijiatuan Village and representatives from Luobang (Beijing) Commercial on the theme of "The Development of Rural Revitalization Industries in Baijiatuan Village, Wenquan Town." The responsible comrades of Baijiatuan Village provided a detailed introduction to the village's basic conditions, industrial overview, and cultural heritage sites. Subsequently, the group visited the Baijiatuan Village History Museum and the Xiangshan Base of Luobang (Beijing) Commercial, gaining a deep understanding of the operations of the agricultural and sideline product supply chain.
The Baijiatuan Village History Museum integrates service functions such as exhibition, education, and culture. It provides a detailed record of the village’s historical evolution, village culture, and folk customs. Its content covers village legends, its origins related to the Dream of the Red Chamber [2], the history of agricultural development, the growth of industrial and sideline sectors, major collective village events, a roll of martyrs [3], major Party and administrative chronicles, and Socialist Core Values [4]. The village history museum has become an important carrier for enhancing the historical and cultural connotations of the countryside, showcasing local folk characteristics, and accelerating the construction of spiritual civilization [5].
In the afternoon, the research office delegation listened attentively to a case study of returning to one's hometown to start a business provided by Henan Zhengyun Agriculture. They also gained an in-depth understanding of the operating mechanisms, social benefits, and development plans of Luobang (Beijing) Commercial. Luobang (Beijing) Commercial is committed to giving full play to its practice-based supply chain security standards, professional service experience, and national agricultural product base resources. Combined with its advantages in technological innovation, the company is advancing the "construction of a digital-intelligent supply chain platform." By utilizing big data technological means, it is progressively building a supply chain management system of "one platform, one set of standards, and a national service network" across the country. This effort assists the standardized and high-quality development of the food ingredient supply chain, explores the creation of direct production-and-marketing channels for agricultural and sideline products, and helps advance the rural revitalization strategy.
Finally, the research office and relevant representatives conducted an in-depth discussion centered on "Primary-level Party organizations studying Party history to strengthen their capacity to lead rural revitalization and the integrated development of culture and tourism." In particular, they engaged in extensive exchanges on themes such as the in-depth study of Party history, strengthening the building of primary-level Party organizations [6], enhancing the sense of political responsibility and mission, as well as entrepreneurial spirit, smart agriculture, and the cultivation of talent for rural revitalization. They also proposed several recommendations for achieving the comprehensive revitalization of the countryside.
Implementing the rural revitalization strategy is an inevitable choice for achieving common prosperity for all people. Baijiatuan Village has conducted extensive explorations in rural revitalization and has achieved certain experience and developmental results. In the future, it is necessary to further leverage the exemplary role and spillover effects of its advantageous industries to provide more replicable development models for promoting the realization of rural revitalization.
