Official Online Database of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Launched

On November 3, 2021, the launch ceremony for the Database of the Library of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was held in the academic auditorium of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

Since the 18th Party Congress ^[1], the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has had the courage to advance theoretical innovation based on practice. It has comprehensively and systematically answered the major epochal question of what kind of socialism with Chinese characteristics should be upheld and developed in the New Era and how to uphold and develop it, thereby founding Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This Thought is the theoretical crystallization emerging from the entirety of the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era; it is the scientific guide for promoting the continuous forward development of the cause of the Party and the state in the New Era; and it is the contemporary Chinese Marxism and 21st-century Marxism that leads China and influences the world. The in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is the primary political task of the entire Party and the whole nation.

The Leading Party Members’ Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences attaches great importance to the study, promotion, research, and interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Through active planning, the Library of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was established within the CASS Library on May 17, 2018. It systematically collects the works, articles, speeches, and other documents of General Secretary Xi Jinping, as well as various related research results, and has received high levels of attention from domestic and international institutions and scholars. To fully utilize information technology, advance the innovation of research methods, and provide more convenient services, the Library has constructed the Database of the Library of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era based on this specialized collection.

The Database of the Library of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era comprehensively collects important documents such as the works, signed articles, individual published speeches, and extracts of expositions ^[2] by General Secretary Xi Jinping, as well as various findings and materials that promote, research, and interpret Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The total volume of documents exceeds 18,000 items.

Among these, the "Original Works of Thought" (思想原著) section displays the works, articles, and important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping since the 18th Party Congress. The "Path of Thought" (思想之路) section displays the works, articles, and life experiences of General Secretary Xi Jinping prior to the 18th Party Congress. The "Research and Interpretation" (研究阐释) section displays a selection of various research results on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, including the outputs from the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Instructions for Use

The database provides one-stop retrieval and browsing of document information and has implemented full-text searching for document data, allowing users to accurately locate the document resources they wish to read. After registration, users can access the full text of all document resources except for book-length publications; the latter can be obtained free of charge through a "document delivery" service.
