Academy of Marxism Holds General Assembly to Convey the Spirit of CASS Special Meetings on Strengthening Ideological and Moral Education and Budget Execution

On the morning of October 20, 2021, the Institute of Marxism Studies (CASS) convened a general assembly for all staff members to convey and study the spirit of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Special Meeting on Strengthening Ideological and Moral Education and the Special Work Meeting on 2021 Budget Execution. Vice Presidents Gong Yun and Yu Junxiao relayed the proceedings to all comrades of the Institute.

Comrade Gong Yun reported on the primary contents of the Special Meeting on Ideological and Moral Education. He focused on conveying the spirit of the speech delivered by Comrade Gao Xiang—Vice President of CASS, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group ^[1], and Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Chinese Academy of History—as well as the requirements set forth by Comrade Jiang Hui, Vice President of CASS, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group, Director of the Institute of Contemporary China, and President of the Institute of Marxism Studies. Gong emphasized that all comrades of the Institute must follow the requirements of the CASS Leading Party Members’ Group to deeply study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches on strengthening ideological and moral education, as well as his important expositions on ideals, convictions, and spiritual strength. He stressed the need to strengthen political guidance, raise political standing, enhance theoretical armament, and improve tempering of Party spirit ^[2]. He further called for everyone to clarify Great Virtue, abide by Public Virtue, and maintain strict Personal Virtue ^[3]; to persist over the long term in strengthening the cultivation of work styles and academic styles; and to continuously reinforce political education, ideological and moral education, and discipline and law education within the Institute.

Comrade Yu Junxiao conveyed the primary spirit of the Special Work Meeting on 2021 Budget Execution, reported on the current status of budget implementation, and put forward requirements for advancing the Institute’s annual budget execution work.
