Call for Papers: The 12th Academic Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism
Distinguished experts and scholars:
To welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Party, to deeply study and implement the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee [1], to deepen theoretical research and publicity-interpretation [2] regarding the glorious century-long course of the Sinicization of Marxism, to strengthen academic exchange among researchers of the Sinicization of Marxism and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics nationwide, to consolidate the theoretical research ranks of the Sinicization of Marxism, and to promote the disciplinary development of the Sinicization of Marxism, it is proposed that the 12th Academic Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism, hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), will be held from May 6 to 8, 2022, in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The convening of the meeting will be determined according to changes in the pandemic situation.
The forum is jointly organized by the Institute of Marxism Studies of CASS, the School of Marxism of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Gannan Normal University. The theme of the forum is "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the New Leap in the Sinicization of Marxism."
Integrating the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and centering on the glorious course of the Sinicization of Marxism, the forum will further conduct in-depth research into core contents such as Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Theory of Three Represents, and the Scientific Outlook on Development, as well as Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Particular focus will be placed on deepening the research and interpretation of the "Two Combinations" [3] and the "Two Establishments," continuously promoting the study of the "new leap in the Sinicization of Marxism" to ensure it proceeds with depth and substance [4].
The forum is organized by the Department of the Sinicization of Marxism of the Institute of Marxism Studies (CASS), the School of Marxism of Gannan Normal University, and the Center for the Study of the Revolutionary Spirit of the Communist Party of China and Cultural Resources of Gannan Normal University. It is co-organized by journals including Marxism Studies (Makesizhuyi yanjiu), World Socialism Studies (Shijie shehuizhuyi yanjiu), the Beijing Municipal CPC Committee’s Frontline (Qianxian) magazine, the Journal of Red Culture (Hongse wenhua xuekan), and Theory and Criticism (Lilun yu pinglun).
We are now soliciting academic papers from across the country. Experts, scholars, teachers, and other educational and research personnel in the fields of the Sinicization of Marxism and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics are welcome to attend the conference with their submissions.
The relevant matters concerning the call for papers are hereby notified as follows:
I. Forum Theme "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the New Leap in the Sinicization of Marxism"
II. Forum Dates May 6 to 8, 2022 (Specific dates may change depending on the national pandemic prevention and control situation)
III. Forum Location Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province [5]
IV. Relevant Explanations No conference fee will be charged. The organizers will cover meal expenses during the meeting; transportation and accommodation expenses are to be borne by the participants.
V. Paper Writing and Submission Requirements
- Manuscript Requirements: Adhere to the correct political direction, stay close to the theme, provide detailed materials, offer sufficient reasoning, and emphasize scholarly rigor. Submissions must be the result of independent research and must not have been previously published. The length should ideally be between 8,000 and 10,000 words, accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 words. Citations and historical data must be accurate and rigorous, with sources clearly indicated (please refer to the format of Marxism Studies). Please attach an author profile, email address, contact phone number, and WeChat ID at the end of the text.
- Submission Method: Please send the electronic version of the paper (Word format: Name + Article Title + 12th Sinicization of Marxism Forum) to the email address: mkszyzghlt2022@163.com. Please do not send hard copies.
- Deadline: April 10, 2022. After a preliminary selection by the forum preparatory group, experts will be organized to review the papers. In late April, authors of selected papers will be invited to join a WeChat workgroup, where formal invitations to the conference will be issued.
