Research Department of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics Holds the 2nd "Academic Micro-Salon" Seminar
The "Academic Micro-Salon" is a new form of academic deliberation explored and launched by the Department of Research on the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. Through the orderly implementation of these activities, the department has put into practice the requirements of the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) regarding the conduct of academic activities on "Return-to-Institute Days" for researchers. This has provided a high-quality platform and operational mechanism for enhancing academic exchange and collaborative synergy among research personnel. Following the successful hosting of the 1st "Academic Micro-Salon" on March 3, 2022, we held the 2nd session as scheduled on March 17.
The 2nd "Academic Micro-Salon" featured Yang Binbin as the lead speaker. All members of the Department of Research on the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics participated in the event, and Professor He Xinyuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Research on the Sinicization of Marxism, provided comprehensive guidance throughout the session.
Yang Binbin delivered a presentation titled "The Multiple Connotations of 'Independence and Self-Reliance' within the System of Chinese Characteristics Political Discourse," sharing insights from three dimensions: basic principles, historical experience, and spiritual power. Members of the research department engaged in in-depth and extensive discussions surrounding this primary topic, while also exchanging views on the forms of transformation for research outputs and methods of team cooperation.
Shen Yang, Director of the Research Department, provided explanations and arrangements regarding the time planning and work tasks for the "Academic Micro-Salon" activities. Deputy Director He Xinyuan offered commentary and shared perspectives on this academic session, providing suggestions for the further revision and improvement of the research papers, and giving guidance on enriching the long-term development of the "Academic Micro-Salon" series.
The "Academic Micro-Salon" is gradually becoming a regularized activity format for the Department of Research on the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. Moving forward, we will deepen research into basic theory, advance research on frontier topics, and focus on the study of major issues. We will persist in "reading original works, studying the original texts, and grasping the underlying principles" [1]. By perfecting the regularized and long-term mechanism of the "Academic Micro-Salon," we aim to further promote the effective transformation of deliberation results, strengthen the team consciousness and collective spirit of department members, and demonstrate the unique advantages of collaborative research.
