Together for a Shared Future: Welcoming the Winter Olympics with One Heart

"Building dreams on ice and snow, igniting passion for the Olympics." To assist the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, encourage the staff of our Academy to understand Winter Olympic culture, stimulate patriotic sentiment, and experience ice and snow sports—thereby allowing the Olympic motto of "Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together" to take root in people’s hearts—the Academy’s Trade Union and the Women’s Working Committee, with the strong support and guidance of the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies (Marxyanyan), jointly organized the "Greeting the Beijing Winter Olympics" event under the theme "Together for a Shared Future."

The event was officially launched on January 28, 2021. The Trade Union and the Women’s Working Committee meticulously established two themes, "Collaboratively Depicting Winter Olympic Sentiments" and "Showcasing the Style of Ice and Snow Sports," soliciting works from all staff members of the Institute of Marxism Studies and their families. The event was welcomed by the staff and their families, who participated actively and submitted contributions enthusiastically. By the conclusion of the event on March 13—the closing day of the Beijing Winter Paralympics—a total of 38 works had been received, including 30 image-based works and 8 videos. These works were diverse and colorful, each with its own characteristics: some used paintbrushes to depict the Winter Olympics in their hearts, some used cameras to capture beautiful moments, and others wielded brushes to splash ink [1] in support of the Winter Olympics. Based on their own interests and hobbies, participants expressed their focus on and support for the Beijing Winter Olympics through various forms such as painting, poetry, calligraphy, photography, and video, showcasing their love and flair for ice and snow sports.

Based on the submitted works, the Trade Union and the Women’s Working Committee produced display boards, burned commemorative CDs, and prepared exquisite Winter Olympic souvenirs for all participants.

Staff members and their families expressed that this activity not only showcased the cheerful, positive, and excellence-seeking spiritual outlook of the Institute’s employees and their families, but also fostered a thick cultural atmosphere within the Institute of Marxism Studies for following the Beijing Winter Olympics, supporting the Games, and actively participating in ice and snow sports. The leadership of the Academy also stated that in the New Era, it is essential to more actively carry out such meaningful activities that combine the themes of the times with excellent traditional culture. This contributes the wisdom and strength of the staff of the Institute of Marxism Studies to the dissemination and promotion of the spirit of the times—including the Olympic spirit—and the inheritance of excellent Chinese traditional culture.
