The Research Department of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics Organized the 3rd "Academic Micro-Salon" Seminar

Actions speak louder than words, and substance prevails over ostentation [1]. The "Academic Micro-Salon" is an academic seminar initiative explored and launched by the Research Department for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics under the Division of Marxist Sinicization Studies; currently, this seminar series has established a mechanism for normalized operation. The Research Department organizes these discussions based on the research orientation of its members, current hotspots, and classical topics. Following the first and second sessions held on March 3 and March 17, 2022, respectively, we successfully conducted the third session on April 6, 2022.

The third session of the "Academic Micro-Salon" was led by Chen Yalian as the keynote speaker. All members of the Research Department for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics attended the event. Researcher He Xinyuan, Deputy Director of the Division of Marxist Sinicization Studies, actively supported the regular conduct of these seminars and provided comprehensive guidance throughout this session.

Chen Yalian delivered a report and presentation titled "Several Reflections on Establishing an Ideological United Front in the New Era." He presented his views from four perspectives: the essence of the ideological united front, the relationship between the "One" and the "Many" in the ideological sphere [2], the historical experience of the cultural united front, and the guidance of various social trends of thought under the banner of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In particular, he conducted an in-depth analysis of the practical significance, historical logic, and construction path of this concept and ideal. Members of the research department engaged in a deep and extensive discussion surrounding the primary topic. Qin Yicheng, Peng Haihong, Meng Qingyou, and Yang Binbin spoke in succession, offering perspectives on the distinctions and connections between relevant concepts of this theme, the scope of application for an ideological united front, and cases from Chinese history and culture, while providing several suggestions for the revision of the paper. Simultaneously, members exchanged views and explored forms for the transformation of research results related to this theme [3].

Shen Yang, Director of the Research Department, provided comments on the significance of the topic selection and the structure of the article, offering several suggestions for revision. He Xinyuan, Deputy Director of the Division, provided commentary and shared perspectives on this academic activity. He fully affirmed the importance and innovativeness of the theme, offered suggestions for revising and perfecting the article and the forms of result transformation based on the existing content, and proposed recommendations for enriching the long-term development of the "Academic Micro-Salon" seminars and the research directions of the department members.

By formulating an activity schedule and making full use of "Return-to-Institute Days" [4] to conduct activities regularly, the Research Department for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics has made the "Academic Micro-Salon" a normalized form of activity for the department. In the future, we will further enrich the content, innovate the formats, and improve the mechanisms of these activities. By integrating relevant academic resources and team advantages, we will continue to deepen research into basic theory, advance research on frontier topics, and focus on the study of major issues, striving to generate more academic achievements through the mutual reinforcement of our members' respective strengths.
