Call for Papers: The 9th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

The "Ninth Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," jointly sponsored by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, will be held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, in mid-to-late June 2022. It is organized by the Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (Institute of Marxism Studies, CASS), the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, and the Yunnan Provincial Demonstration Base for Studying, Publicizing, and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. We cordially invite colleagues to write papers and take the time to attend the forum to discuss the conference theme.

I. Conference Theme: The New Leap in the Sinicization of Marxism in the New Era

  1. Research on the basis and major historical significance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in achieving a new leap in the Sinicization of Marxism. [1]
  2. Research on the scientific system and core tenets of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  3. Research on the major original contributions of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  4. Research on the internal logic of the "Ten Clarifications" [2] within Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
  5. Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the essence of Chinese culture and the Chinese spirit in our times.

III. Conference Time and Location:

  1. Time: Mid-to-late June 2022 (specific dates to be determined based on pandemic prevention and control conditions).
  2. Location: Kunming, Yunnan.

IV. Other Matters:

  1. The conference does not charge a registration fee; participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation costs. Hard-copy invitation letters can be collected at the conference site.
  2. Please send the call for papers and the conference participation receipt to 13769185606@139.com by May 10, 2022. The organizing committee will send official invitations based on the submissions.
  3. Attendance at the seminar is contingent upon paper submission; selected papers will be edited and published as a collection after the meeting. The electronic file of the paper should be named "Author Name + University + Article Title." Please select your own title based on the theme and the topics mentioned above; it is essential to adhere to the correct political direction. Papers must be original research results that have not been previously published. Please use Word electronic format. The length should preferably not exceed 8,000 words, including 3–5 keywords and an abstract within 300 words. Citations should use footnotes at the bottom of the page in size 10.5 (Small No. 5) Songti font, with numbering restarting on each page. Specifically, please follow the publication format of Marxist Studies (Mǎkèsīzhǔyì Yánjiū). Please include a brief author biography, professional title/position, contact phone number, email address, and other personal information at the end of the text.
