Call for Papers: The 11th National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 12th National Youth Forum on Marxist Economics
"Joyfully Welcoming the 20th National Congress, Forging Ahead on the New Journey" The Full Commencement of the New Journey of Socialist Modernization and the Innovative Development of Marxist Political Economy — Call for Papers for the 11th National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 12th National Youth Forum on Marxist Economics
In order to deeply study the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee [1], welcome the successful opening of the 20th National Congress of the Party [2], comprehensively organize and summarize the important contributions of Marxist political economy to China’s economic development, deeply explore major theoretical and practical issues in the history of Marxist economic thought, and better study, implement, publicize, and research Xi Jinping’s Economic Thought [3], so as to promote the construction of political economy with Chinese characteristics and the Sinicization and modernization of Marxist political economy in the New Era, we hereby host the "11th National Forum on Marxist Economics and the 12th National Youth Forum on Marxist Economics."
The forum is scheduled to be held at Hebei Normal University in mid-to-late September 2022.
The forum intends to adopt a "1+4+3" exchange and discussion model, namely: a keynote report + 4 parallel sub-forum reports + 3 academic exchange sessions (specifically: a dialogue and exchange session for young scholars, an exchange session on the construction of the discipline of political economy and the development of youth, and an exchange session between academic journals and young scholars).
Forum Theme and Topics The theme of this forum is "The Full Commencement of the New Journey of Socialist Modernization and the Innovative Development of Marxist Political Economy." It will focus on, but is not limited to, the following topics:
- Basic principles of Marxist political economy and textual research on classic works.
- Research on important theoretical issues in the history of Marxist economic thought.
- Research on the Sinicization and modernization of Marxist political economy and political economy with Chinese characteristics.
- Research on Xi Jinping’s Economic Thought.
- Research on the innovation and practice of the Communist Party of China's economic theories and its significance in the history of thought.
- Research on major economic issues in the New Journey of fully commencing socialist modernization during the New Development Stage [4].
- Research on high-quality development and the modernized economic system.
- Research on issues related to the dual circulation development pattern and the construction of a unified national large market.
- Research on the theory and practice of common prosperity.
- Political economy research on the great changes unseen in a century [5] and the new changes in contemporary capitalism.
- Research on foreign Marxist political economy theories and their contemporary value.
- Research on other important theoretical and practical issues related to Marxist political economy.
Submission Requirements Researchers from national research institutions, institutions of higher education, Party and government departments, and other units are welcome to actively submit papers. Master's and doctoral students who are interested in Marxist political economy are encouraged and supported to actively submit papers and participate in the meeting.
In addition to the main text, submitted papers must include an abstract, keywords, author biography, contact phone number, email address, and other information. Papers must be previously unpublished, with a word count of no less than 8,000 words. (See Appendix 1 for formatting requirements).
The deadline for submission is July 20, 2022.

A review meeting will be held at the end of July 2022 to deliberate on the submitted papers. The reviewers will mainly consist of experts in the field, heads of core journals, members of the forum's executive committee, and members of the secretariat. Authors of selected papers will receive an official invitation letter in mid-to-late August.
To encourage young scholars to devote themselves to academic research and innovation, this forum will conduct a review of outstanding achievements. Approximately 10 outstanding achievements will be selected from the submitted papers (with a focus on lecturers and master's/doctoral students), including 2 first-prize achievements, 3 second-prize achievements, and 5 third-prize achievements. Honorary certificates and awards will be presented to the winning scholars at the opening of the forum. Subsequently, the list of winners will be announced and the achievements will be promoted on the forum's WeChat public account "Youth in Marxist Economics" (Majing Qingnian).

Appendix 1: Forum Paper Formatting Requirements and Instructions
- Title (Songti, Size 2): The title should be concise and accurate, and able to summarize the main point of the article. A subtitle may be added if necessary.
- Author Signature (Kaiti, Size 4) and Affiliation (Songti, Size 5): The author's name is placed below the title. The author should indicate the full name of their work unit, the province, city, and zip code, placed in parentheses below the author's signature; one author should only indicate one work unit (in principle, only one secondary unit); if the author has multiple work units, others should be explained in the author biography; multiple authors' names should be separated by semicolons, and in principle, there should be no more than two named authors.
- Funding Projects and Author Biography (Heiti, Size 5): If the paper is funded by a project at or above the provincial/ministerial level, the funding project, project name, and approval number must be noted at the bottom of the first page. The author biography should include name, year of birth, gender, place of origin, degree, professional title, and main research direction. Those who have obtained a doctor's (master's) degree should indicate it; those who are currently pursuing a doctor's (master's) degree should indicate they are a doctoral (master's) student.
- Abstract and Keywords (Heiti, Size 5): The abstract is an excerpt of the main viewpoints of the paper, which is independent and self-contained. It must use highly concise language to summarize the main information of the entire text. Expressions such as "This article introduces" or "The author believes" should be avoided. The abstract is generally 300–400 words. Keywords are identifying words (can be words or phrases) that reflect the main content of the paper for indexing purposes and must use general terminology. Keywords are generally 3–5, separated by semicolons. (The content of the abstract and keywords should be in Kaiti, Size 5).
- Main Text: Titles within the text should be as short and clear as possible, without punctuation at the end. There should not be too many levels, generally no more than 5. The general format is I., (I), 1., (1), 1), and circled numbers (such as ①②) should not be used. No serial numbers are added to the introduction and conclusion. The chosen topic must be cutting-edge, the literature used must be original and detailed, theory should be combined with reality, the demonstration process should be reasonable, and the conclusion should be innovative. The hierarchy should be clear and the structure complete. The "Introduction" section must include a review of the relevant academic history. Character usage must comply with modern Chinese standards.
- Notes: Notes use footnotes (at the bottom of the page) to provide necessary explanations or descriptions of specific content within the text. The recording adopts a sequential coding system, with notes on each page coded separately. The recording items must be complete, and the serial number marked with Arabic numerals in parentheses. References use endnotes (at the end of the text), using a sequential coding system, with the serial number marked with Arabic numerals in square brackets. For electronic document types such as databases, computer programs, and electronic announcements, their identification shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Formatting Specifications for Social Science Journals of Higher Education Institutions in China, and the publication time and citation time shall be marked.
