Call for Papers: 2022 National Forum on the Basic Principles of Marxism

The discipline of the Basic Principles of Marxism is a designated Priority Discipline [1] of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) (led by Professor Cheng Enfu and Research Fellow Yu Bin). The "National Symposium on the Basic Principles of Marxism" series aims to facilitate exchange and the presentation of achievements among experts and scholars engaged in the research and teaching of the basic principles of Marxism, with the goal of promoting the classical inheritance, innovation, and development of these principles. The 2022 National Symposium on the Basic Principles of Marxism is jointly organized by the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, the School of Marxism of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the editorial department of World Socialism Studies, the Beijing Collaborative Innovation Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (China University of Political Science and Law), the School of Marxism of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), and the NUAA base of the Jiangsu Provincial Center for the Study of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. The symposium is scheduled to be held in November 2022. We sincerely invite colleagues from the national academic community to participate and exchange ideas.

The theme of this year's symposium is: "The Study and Application of the Basic Principles of Marxism: Studying the Spirit of the 20th National Congress." Specific topics include: (1) Thoughts on economic construction in the New Era in the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (2) Thoughts on political construction in the New Era in the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (3) Thoughts on cultural construction in the New Era in the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (4) Thoughts on social construction in the New Era in the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (5) Thoughts on ecological civilization construction in the New Era in the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (6) Thoughts on international issues in the report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC; (7) Contemporary applications of the basic principles of Marxism; (8) Disciplinary construction of the basic principles of Marxism; etc. [2]

The symposium operates on a "participation by paper" basis. Experts and scholars intending to attend are requested to write papers centered on the conference theme. Paper formatting should refer to the submission requirements of the journal Studies on Marxism. After the meeting, we will select outstanding papers to recommend to journals such as Studies on Marxism, Studies in Political Economy, Contemporary Economic Research, and World Socialism Studies. The deadline for paper submissions is November 1, 2022.
