The "Ten Persistences" [1] book series, a key publication for the 2022 theme-based publishing project, was recently published and distributed by the People's Daily Press. Centered on the historical experience of the Communist Party of China's (CPC) century of struggle, the series invited ten experts and scholars from the fields of philosophy and social sciences to conduct research and interpretation from an academic perspective. It provides a beneficial reference for the broad reading public, and particularly for leading Party cadres, to deeply study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and to profoundly grasp the significant meaning, scientific connotation, and requirements of the times inherent in the "Ten Persistences" historical experience.
The "Ten Persistences" series revolves closely around the research, promotion, and interpretation of the Party's ten historical experiences over its centenary, possessing profound intentionality. Specifically, it includes ten volumes: Upholding the Party's Leadership, Putting the People First, Advancing Theoretical Innovation, Maintaining Independence, Following the Chinese Path, Maintaining a Global Perspective [2], Breaking New Ground, Daring to Struggle, Consolidating the United Front, and Self-Revolution. The series adheres to the integration of history and reality, theory and practice, and domestic and international perspectives. It provides both a comprehensive review and focused display of the great achievements of the Party's centenary struggle, as well as a systematic summary and specific analysis of its valuable experience. Furthermore, it outlines the methods and paths for adhering to and continuously enriching the "Ten Persistences" historical experience in the practice of the New Era, enabling readers and leading cadres to fully recognize the immense significance of the Party's century of historical experience.
According to reports, the preface for this series was written by Wang Weiguang, a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Director of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs. The ten authors—Feng Yanli, Chen Jinlong, Guo Jianning, Wang Yonggui, Xin Ming, Chen Shuguang, Liu Zhiming, Zhang Hao, Zhang Xiansheng, and Zhao Zhouxian—are all renowned experts and scholars in China's philosophy and social science fields. The series possesses both pedagogical depth and academic thickness, while also maintaining a breadth and warmth that makes it accessible to a wider audience. It plays a positive and important role in using academic language to tell the China story well, in understanding, internalizing, and applying [3] Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era from a theoretical standpoint, and in striving to construct the disciplinary, academic, and discourse systems of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics.
