Call for Papers: The 10th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

To further deepen the study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and explore hot topics such as Chinese-path modernization and the new form of human civilization against the backdrop of changes unseen in a century [1], the 10th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era—jointly organized by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Dalian Maritime University—will be held in Dalian from May 12 to 14, 2023. We cordially invite colleagues to write papers centered on the conference theme and to take the time to attend the seminar.

  1. The struggle and historical experience of the CPC in exploring Chinese-path modernization.
  2. Strategic arrangements and major principles for comprehensively building a great modern socialist country.
  3. The Chinese characteristics and essential requirements of Chinese-path modernization.
  4. The basic experience, theoretical innovation, and practical creation of Chinese-path modernization.
  5. The generative logic and primary characteristics of the new form of human civilization.
  6. The value implications and profound significance of the new form of human civilization.
  7. The logical relationship between Chinese-path modernization and the new form of human civilization.
  8. The discursive construction of Chinese-path modernization and the new form of human civilization.
  9. The value implications of marine development in the construction of Chinese-path modernization.
  10. The construction of a maritime power [2] within Chinese-path modernization.

III. Time and Location (1) Time: May 12–14, 2023. Registration on May 12 (Friday); departure on May 14 (Sunday). (2) Location: Dalian Bangchuidao Hotel (No. 1 Yingbin Road, Zhongshan District, Dalian).

V. Other Matters

  1. The conference does not charge a registration fee. Participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation costs. Physical invitation letters will be collected at the venue.
  2. Please send the call for papers and the conference registration receipt (see appendix) to the email: weilingxue@dlmu.edu.cn by April 21, 2023.
  3. Participation in the seminar is based on paper submission; selected papers will be compiled and published after the meeting. Electronic paper files should be named "Author Name + School + Paper Title." Please select a title based on the theme and the aforementioned topics, and ensure adherence to the correct political orientation. Papers must be original research findings that have not been previously published. Manuscripts should be in electronic Word format, ideally between 6,000 and 10,000 words. Please include 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 words. Citations should use footnotes at the bottom of the page in size 9.5 Songti font (small No. 5), re-numbered on each page. For specific details, please refer to the publication format of Marxist Studies. Please attach the author’s biography, professional title, position, contact phone number, email address, and other personal information at the end of the text.
