Call for Papers: The 13th Academic Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism
In order to conduct in-depth study, research, and interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC [1], to systematically explicate the latest theoretical achievements in the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism, and to enhance academic exchange among researchers of the Sinicization of Marxism, the 13th Academic Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism is scheduled to be held from May 19 to 21, 2023, at Jiangnan University. The forum is jointly hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Jiangnan University, and the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS). It is co-organized by the Department of Research on the Sinicization of Marxism within the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, the School of Marxism at Jiangnan University, and the School of Marxism at the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Supporting organizations for the forum include the journals Marxism Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu), World Socialism Studies (Shijie Shehuizhuyi Yanjiu), the Journal of Jiangnan University, and Frontline (Qianxian) magazine of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC. We are now soliciting academic papers from across the country. Experts, scholars, and graduate students in research fields such as the Sinicization of Marxism and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics are welcome to submit papers and attend the conference.
I. Forum Theme: The Sinicization and Modernization of Marxism
II. Forum Schedule: May 19–21, 2023 (Registration on the 19th, sessions on the 20th, departure on the 21st)
III. Forum Location: Jiangnan University, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province
IV. General Information: No registration fee will be charged for the conference. The organizers will cover meal expenses during the forum; transportation and accommodation costs are to be borne by the participants.
V. Paper Writing and Submission Requirements:
- Manuscript Requirements: Papers must maintain the correct political direction, adhere closely to the theme, utilize detailed materials, provide sufficient reasoning, and emphasize scholarly rigor. Submissions must be the result of independent research and must not have been previously published. The length should ideally be between 8,000 and 10,000 characters, accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 characters. Citations and historical data must be accurate and rigorous, with sources noted (refer to the format of Marxism Studies). Please attach an author profile, contact phone number, WeChat ID, and email address at the end of the text.
- Submission Method: Please send the electronic version of the paper (WORD format: Name + Article Title + 13th Sinicization of Marxism Forum) to the email address: mkszyzghlt2023@163.com. Please do not send hard-copy submissions.
- Deadline: May 5, 2023. After an initial screening by the forum preparatory group, experts will be organized to review the papers. Selected authors will be invited to join a WeChat work group before May 10, where formal conference invitations will be issued.
