Call for Papers: 2023 National Forum on the Basic Principles of Marxism
The "National Forum on the Basic Tenets of Marxism" series of conferences aims to facilitate mutual exchange and the display of research achievements among experts and scholars engaged in the study and teaching of the basic tenets of Marxism. It seeks to promote the classical inheritance, innovation, and development of the basic tenets of Marxism. The 2023 National Symposium on the Basic Tenets of Marxism is co-hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the editorial department of World Socialism Studies, the Collaborative Innovation Center for the Study of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Beijing Universities (China University of Political Science and Law), and the School of Marxism at Shandong University. The symposium is scheduled to be held from August 19 to 20, 2023. We sincerely invite colleagues from the national academic community to participate and engage in exchange.
The theme of this symposium is: "The Marxist Worldview and Methodology." Specific topics include: (1) The worldview and methodology of Mao Zedong Thought; (2) The worldview and methodology of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics; (3) The worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; (4) Research on Chinese-path modernization from the perspective of the basic tenets of Marxism; (5) Research on the basic tenets and classical works of Marxism; (6) Research on the contemporary application of the basic tenets of Marxism; (7) Disciplinary development of the basic tenets of Marxism; and so forth.
The symposium follows a "participation by paper submission" [1] policy. Experts and scholars intending to attend are requested to write papers centered on the conference theme. Paper formatting should refer to the submission requirements of the journal Marxism Studies (Mǎkèsīzhǔyì Yánjiū). After the conference, selected outstanding papers will be recommended to journals such as Marxism Studies, Studies in Political Economy, Contemporary Economic Research, and World Socialism Studies. The deadline for paper submissions is July 30, 2023.
