Call for Papers for the 15th National Forum for Deans of Marxist Studies Schools
The year 2023 marks the inaugural year for the comprehensive implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as well as the 205th anniversary of the birth of Karl Marx. In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress, advance the innovative development of 21st-century Marxism, and guide the great practice of Chinese-path modernization with Sinicized and epochalized [1] Marxism, the 15th National Forum of Deans of Marxism is scheduled to be held at Nankai University in late October 2023. The theme of the forum is "Marxism and Chinese-path Modernization."
This forum will focus closely on the conference theme, with particular emphasis on investigating the following topics:
- Research on the worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
- Research on the Sinicization and epochalization of Marxism.
- Research on the Communist Party of China and Chinese-path modernization.
- Chinese-path modernization and the modern civilization of the Chinese nation.
- Research on the modernization of the system and capacity for national governance.
- Research on the new development pattern [2] and high-quality development.
- Research on whole-process people's democracy and the rule of law.
- Research on the construction of a socialist cultural powerhouse.
- Issues of development and security under the "two-overall-situations" [3].
- Research on new changes and problems in contemporary capitalism.
- Research on contemporary foreign Marxist ideological trends.
We cordially invite teaching and research personnel from national research institutions, institutions of higher education, and Party and government departments to submit papers. Manuscript requirements are as follows:
- The stance must be correct, the theme distinct, the logic rigorous, and the historical and theoretical analysis integrated [4]. Submissions should demonstrate academic rigor and innovation, possessing high theoretical and practical value.
- Papers must be newly written and unpublished works of no fewer than 8,000 words. The main text should be preceded by an abstract (approx. 500 words), keywords (3–5), a brief author biography, and detailed contact information.
This forum adopts a "participation based on submission" policy. The deadline for paper submissions is September 10, 2023. Please send the electronic version of the paper as a WORD document to the email address: mnsh2019@163.com (Contact: Teacher Yang, Institute of Marxism Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences). After selection by the expert review committee, invitations will be sent to selected participants no later than September 30. Excellent papers will be selected for inclusion in a published collection and recommended for publication in Marxism Studies (Makesizhuyi yanjiu).
