2023 Postdoctoral Recruitment Announcement of the Academy of Marxism

In accordance with the relevant documents issued by the General Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee, the postdoctoral research station of the Institute of Marxism ^[1] will continue its 2023 recruitment work based on a commitment to being task- and research project-oriented. Adhering to the principles of "fairness, justice, openness, and merit-based selection," the station intends to recruit three postdoctoral staff members under the category of state-funded positions.

I. Recruitment Criteria (1) Applicants must possess high political quality and moral character, abide by the law and discipline, and be young talents with a certain level of academic accumulation who have graduated with a doctoral degree from "Double First-Class" ^[2] initiative universities, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, or other key research institutes (including graduates from universities ranked in the top 200 globally in comprehensive or subject-specific rankings). (2) During their doctoral studies, applicants must have published at least two academic papers in core journals as the sole author or first author. For those without published papers, their doctoral dissertation must have been evaluated as "Excellent." Reference journals for publication include the Overview of Core Chinese Periodicals, the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI), and the Evaluation Report on Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Periodicals. (3) Applicants must possess a strong academic background and research capabilities, have a certain degree of academic accumulation in their respective disciplines, and demonstrate significant potential for scientific research. (4) Applicants must be in good health and under the age of 35. (5) Applicants must engage in postdoctoral research work on a full-time basis during their tenure at the station. (6) Staff members of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences are not permitted to apply for postdoctoral positions within the Academy. (7) This station does not accept doctoral graduates trained in the first-tier discipline of Marxist studies within our Institute to conduct postdoctoral research here, nor does it recruit leading cadres from Party or government organs to engage in in-service (non-full-time) postdoctoral research.

II. Academic Disciplines for Recruitment Basic Principles of Marxism, Research on the Sinicization of Marxism, History of Marxist Development, Scientific Socialism and the International Communist Movement, Research on Overseas Marxism, Party Building ^[3], etc.

III. Benefits During Tenure (1) Daily funds: Implemented in accordance with the requirements of the "Notice on Adjusting the Standards for Postdoctoral Daily Funds" jointly issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Finance. (2) Social insurance and Housing Provident Fund benefits. (3) This station does not provide postdoctoral apartments; accommodation must be arranged by the individual.

IV. Standards for Exit from the Station In addition to completing one "Postdoctoral Exit Report" of high academic value during their tenure, the researcher must use "Chinese Academy of Social Sciences" or "Institute of Marxism, CASS" as their affiliated institution and complete one of the following tasks as the sole author, first author, or second author (if the postdoctoral supervisor is the first author):

1. Publish one academic paper in a top-tier or "authoritative" journal (referencing the Evaluation Report on Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Periodicals published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, or a foreign language journal of equivalent influence).
2. Publish two academic papers in core journals or foreign language journals of equivalent influence.

V. Required Application Materials (1) The Institute of Marxism Postdoctoral Application Form (available for download in the attachment). This includes supporting materials (one photocopy) for involved papers, monographs, awards, and projects undertaken. For papers, submit the journal cover, table of contents, and the first and last pages of the article. For monographs, submit the cover and copyright page. For awards, submit certificates. For projects, submit the project establishment or conclusion letter. For articles accepted but not yet published, submit a "Notice of Acceptance" stamped by the journal's editorial department. (2) One photocopy of the doctoral degree certificate or the "Resolution of the Doctoral Dissertation Defense Committee." (3) One copy of the doctoral dissertation. (4) One photocopy of a valid personal identification document. (5) A recent certificate of physical health issued by a "Grade 3, Class A" ^[4] hospital (blood tests must include "comprehensive biochemical analysis" results).
