The National Conditions Research Group of the Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Conducts Research in Inner Mongolia
In April 2023, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the working conference for the thematic education [1] campaign on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, putting forward clear requirements for further improving investigation and research. To effectively implement the requirements of the thematic education and deeply strengthen investigation and research, a national conditions research team from the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) traveled to several leagues and cities [2] in Inner Mongolia. The team conducted research around themes such as "Ecological Civilization Construction under Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era" and "Strengthening the Political and Organizational Functions of Party Organizations."
From July 22 to 26, a delegation led by Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS, visited Hinggan League and Xilingol League to conduct national conditions research. They were accompanied by Zhu Xiaojun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairperson of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Federation of Social Sciences, and Liu Zhong, Deputy Director of the Hinggan League Working Committee of the Regional People's Congress. The research team visited Jingye Group Ulanhot Steel Co., Ltd. to learn about green energy-saving and environmental protection industrial upgrading projects, including blast furnace energy conservation, gas recovery for power generation, and sewage treatment. They traveled to the Ulan Maud Grassland in Horqin Right Front Banner [3] to conduct field research on infrastructure construction and grassland ecological protection, and visited Duolun County and Zhenglan Banner to understand the progress of comprehensive management of sandy grassland and the project of returning farmland to forests and grasslands [4]. They also held several symposiums and exchanges with relevant local departments.

From July 12 to 16, a delegation led by Lin Jianhua, Vice President of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, visited Hinggan League and Tongliao City to conduct national conditions research. They were accompanied by Zhu Meng, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Social Sciences, and Jiao Gangwei, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department. The research team visited Erlongtun Organic Agriculture Co., Ltd., Haridaobu Gacha [5] in Bayan Huxu Town, and the Horqin Right Middle Banner Museum to learn about Party building in "Two New" organizations [6], Party building leading rural revitalization, and primary-level propaganda, ideological, and cultural work. They also visited the Red Chili Industry R&D Center in Kailu County, the Xiaochengzi standardized demonstration orchard and corn demonstration base, the Party-Mass Service Center of the Kailu Biomedicine Development Zone, the Municipal Tianyi Nursing Home, Shiji Tiancheng Company, and various museums. These visits aimed to understand how high-quality Party building leads rural revitalization and how Party building governs the high-quality development of social organizations. The team held symposiums and engaged in in-depth exchanges with relevant departments on strengthening the political and organizational functions of Party organizations.

From July 10 to July 14, a research team from the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies visited Bayannur City and Ordos City to conduct national conditions research. They successively inspected the Ershili Liuzi Ulan Buh Desert management area in Dengkou, the Yellow River Sanshenggong Water Conservancy Hub, the Modern Industrial Demonstration Park on the south bank of Ulansuhai Lake, the Ulansuhai Nature Reserve, the Ordos Carbon Neutrality Research Institute, the Ordos Zero-Carbon Industrial Park, and the Kubuqi Desert. The team studied local experiences in industrial structure transformation, photovoltaic desertification control, and desert water ecology management.
Through these investigations and research, the team deepened its understanding of the Party's innovative theories, enhanced its grasp of Inner Mongolia's strategic positioning as a "solid ecological security barrier in Northern China," and expanded its research horizons.
