Call for Papers: Academic Forum on "Chinese Modernization and the Party's Strategy for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era"

In order to deeply study, research, and expound upon Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, to grasp the profound connotation of Chinese-path modernization, and to implement the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the New Era [1] fully, physically, and accurately, the Academic Forum on "Chinese-path Modernization and the Party’s Strategy for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era" is scheduled to be held in Ürümqi on Saturday, October 28, 2023. This forum aims to advance theoretical and practical innovation regarding Chinese-path modernization and the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the New Era, contributing academic wisdom and strength to the comprehensive building of a modern socialist country. The forum is hosted by the Xinjiang Center for the Study of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics of the Xinjiang Academy of Social Sciences (XJASS). We are now soliciting academic papers nationwide and welcome experts, scholars, and graduate students in research fields such as Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Sinicization of Marxism, the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the New Era to participate.

IV. Relevant Information No registration fee will be charged for this meeting; participants are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses.

V. Paper Writing and Submission Requirements

  1. Manuscript Requirements: Adhere to the correct political direction, stay close to the theme, provide factual materials, offer sufficient reasoning, and emphasize academic rigor. Submissions must be original academic achievements that have not been publicly published and do not involve state secrets. The length should ideally be 8,000–10,000 characters, accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 characters. Citations and historical data must be accurate and rigorous, with sources noted (please refer to the format of Marxism Studies [《马克思主义研究》]). Please attach a brief author biography, contact phone number, WeChat ID, and email address at the end of the text.
  2. Submission Method: Please send an electronic version of the paper (Word version titled: Name + Institutional Affiliation + Article Title) to the email: zgtsshzylltxyj@163.com. Please do not send hard copies.
  3. Deadline: September 30, 2023. After a preliminary screening by the Forum Preparatory Group, experts will be organized to review the papers. Authors of selected papers will be invited to join a WeChat work group by October 13, and formal invitations will be issued within the group.
