Call for Papers: "Chinese Modernization and the Party's Strategy for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era" Academic Forum

In order to deeply study, research, and expound upon Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC); to study and comprehend the profound connotations of Chinese-path modernization; to implement the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the New Era [1] in a complete, accurate, and comprehensive manner; to promote theoretical and practical innovation regarding Chinese-path modernization and the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the New Era; and to contribute academic wisdom and strength toward the comprehensive building of a modern socialist country, the academic forum “Chinese-path Modernization and the Party’s Strategy for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era” will be held in Urumqi on Monday, October 30, 2023. The forum is hosted by the Xinjiang Center for the Study of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (Xinjiang Academy of Social Sciences). We are now soliciting academic papers from across the country and welcome experts, scholars, and graduate students in research fields such as Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Sinicization of Marxism, and the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the New Era to attend with their submissions. This forum will print a "Collection of Papers" and present awards for outstanding submissions.

I. Forum Theme Chinese-path modernization and the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the New Era.

II. Forum Time and Location Time: Monday, October 30, 2023. Location: Meeting Room, 13th Floor, Social Sciences Building, Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

III. Forum Host Xinjiang Center for the Study of the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.

IV. Relevant Clarifications This conference does not charge any registration or service fees; conference representatives are responsible for their own round-trip transportation and accommodation costs.

V. Paper Writing and Submission Requirements

  1. Manuscript Requirements: Maintain the correct political direction, adhere closely to the theme, provide detailed materials, offer sufficient reasoning, and emphasize academic rigor. Submissions must be original academic achievements that have not been publicly published and do not involve state secrets. The length should ideally be between 8,000 and 10,000 characters, accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract of no more than 300 characters. Citations and historical data must be accurate and rigorous, with sources noted (please refer to the format of Marxism Studies [《马克思主义研究》]). Please attach an author profile, contact phone number, WeChat ID, and email address at the end of the text.
  2. Submission Method: Please send the electronic version of the paper (Word format: Name + Affiliation + Article Title) to the email: zgtsshzylltxyj@163.com. Please do not send hard-copy papers.
  3. Deadline: October 20, 2023. After a preliminary selection by the Forum Preparatory Group, experts will be organized to review the papers. Authors of selected papers will be invited to join a WeChat working group by October 25, where official participation invitations will be issued.
