Call for Papers: The 11th "Marxist Philosophy Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences"
To deeply study and interpret Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and further advance the innovation and development of Marxist philosophy, the 11th "Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Marxist Philosophy Forum" is scheduled to be held in Nanning, Guangxi, from December 15 to 17, 2023.
The CASS Marxist Philosophy Forum is one of the forum series of the CASS Project to Build Marxist Theory and Conduct Theoretical Research. As an authoritative forum in the field of Marxist philosophy research, it aims to strengthen exchanges among scholars in the field of Marxist philosophy nationwide and promote the in-depth development of Marxist philosophy research. The forum operates under a chairperson responsibility system, with the renowned Marxist scholar Professor Hou Huiqin serving as the forum chairperson. Founded in 2013 and held annually, it has become one of the most influential national forums in the field of Marxist philosophy research.
I. The theme of the forum is "The New Cultural Mission [1] and the Innovation of Marxist Philosophy of Culture."
II. The forum follows the system of "participation based on submission." Please write papers for the meeting centered on the following primary topics:
- Research on the cultural-philosophical thought of classical Marxist authors.
- Research on the original contributions of Xi Jinping’s cultural thought to historical materialism.
- Research on the "Two Combinations" [2] and the Chinese characteristics of Marxist philosophy of culture.
- Research on the foundations of Chinese civilization in contemporary Chinese Marxist philosophy.
- Research on the philosophical foundations of building a country with a strong socialist culture.
- Critical research on erroneous contemporary trends of thought in the philosophy of culture.
We hereby solicit papers from experts and scholars engaged in Marxist theoretical research across the country.
Papers should focus on the theme of this forum and adhere to the correct political orientation. Generally, submissions must be unpublished research results and conform to academic norms. The length of the paper should generally not exceed 10,000 words (including notes), accompanied by 3–5 keywords and an abstract within 300 words. Citations and historical materials must be accurate and rigorous, with sources clearly indicated (please refer to the format of Marxist Studies [3]). Please attach an author profile, email address, contact number, etc., at the end of the text.
The deadline for submissions is December 1, 2023. Files should be named using the format "Name + Institution + Title of Paper (or Presentation)." After the papers pass the preliminary selection, the forum preparatory group will send invitation letters to the selected authors in early December.
