Call for Papers for the 2024 National Annual Academic Conference on the Research of Marxist Principles
The "National Forum on the Basic Principles of Marxism" series of conferences, organized by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), aims to facilitate mutual exchange and the display of research achievements among experts and scholars engaged in the study and teaching of the basic principles of Marxism. Its objective is to promote the classical inheritance, innovation, and development of the basic principles of Marxism. Since its inception in 2013, this forum has been successfully held eleven times. In 2024, the forum was renamed the "Annual Conference of National Research on the Principles of Marxism." The annual conference consists of four sections: Marxist Philosophy, Marxist Political Economy, Scientific Socialism, and the History of the Development of Marxism. The 2024 Annual Conference of National Research on the Principles of Marxism is jointly organized by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Yunnan Normal University, and Pu’er University. It is hosted by the School of Marxism at Yunnan Normal University and the School of Marxism at Pu’er University, with the editorial departments of Marxism Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu), World Socialism Studies (Shijie Shehuizhuyi Yanjiu), and Research on the Basic Principles of Marxism (Makesizhuyi Jiben Yuanli Yanjiu) serving as co-organizers. Colleagues from the national academic community are sincerely invited to participate and exchange ideas.
Theme of the Annual Conference: The "Two Combinations" [1] and Innovative Research on the Basic Principles of Marxism.
Specific topics include, but are not limited to: (1) The profound connotation and significant importance of the "Two Combinations"; (2) Philosophical interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture; (3) Innovative research on the basic principles of Marxism; (4) Discipline construction regarding the basic principles of Marxism; (5) The innovativeness and timeliness of Xi Jinping Economic Thought; (6) Research on fine traditional Chinese culture [2] and the values of scientific socialism; (7) Research on the pioneering innovations of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era regarding the history of the development of Marxism.
The annual conference follows the principle of "participation based on submission." Experts and scholars intending to attend are requested to compose papers centered on the conference theme. Paper formatting should refer to the submission requirements of the journal Marxism Studies. After the conference, outstanding papers will be selected and recommended to journals such as Marxism Studies, Research on Political Economy (Zhengzhi Jingjixue Yanjiu), Contemporary Economic Research (Dangdai Jingji Yanjiu), World Socialism Studies, and Research on the Basic Principles of Marxism. The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2024.
