Notice for Call for Papers: 2024 National Academic Symposium on Ideological and Political Education

To study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee [1], strengthen the research, publicity, and interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture [2], and deeply understand the innovative development of ideological and political education within the process of Chinese-path modernization—thereby improving the level of academic research and the quality of talent cultivation in ideological and political education—the "2024 National Academic Symposium on Ideological and Political Education" is scheduled to be held at Nankai University on November 16, 2024, marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the ideological and political education major. The theme of the conference is "Historical Reflection and Future Outlook on the Disciplinary Development of Ideological and Political Education."

This symposium will focus closely on the conference theme, with particular emphasis on the following topics:

  1. Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Culture.
  2. Research on General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on ideological and political education.
  3. Research on the positioning and function of ideological and political education in the process of Chinese-path modernization.
  4. Research on the historical process and experiences of the disciplinary construction of ideological and political education.
  5. Research on the progress of basic theories of ideological and political education over the past 40 years.
  6. Research on the historical experience of the ideological and political education discipline in supporting the construction of Ideological and Political Theory Courses [3] over the past 40 years.
  7. Research on the high-quality development of the ideological and political education discipline in the New Era.
  8. Research on the methodology of ideological and political education in the New Era.
  9. Research on perfecting the mechanism for "fostering virtue through education" [4] in the New Era.
  10. Research on the innovative development of ideological and political education in the New Era.

We cordially invite teaching and research personnel from national research institutions, higher education institutions, and Party and government departments to submit papers. Manuscript requirements are as follows:

  1. Correct political stance, clear themes, rigorous logic, and the integration of history and theory [5]. Submissions should reflect academic rigor and innovation, possessing high theoretical and practical value.
  2. Length should be over 8,000 words. Citations must be standardized and quotations accurate. Layout and formatting should refer to the standards for papers in Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu). Please attach an author profile (name, gender, workplace, professional title, and position) as well as detailed contact information (telephone, mailing address, and email).

Admission to this symposium is based on paper submission. The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2024. Please send the electronic version of your paper as a Word document to the conference email: 2120212572@mail.nankai.edu.cn. The filename should be "Institution + Name + Paper Title."

Following evaluation by the Expert Review Committee, invitation letters will be sent to the authors of selected papers. Selected participants are requested to send their conference receipt to the conference email in a timely manner, with the filename "Receipt + Institution + Name" (see Appendix 1 for the conference receipt).
