Statement of the China Society of Historical Materialism

Regarding the recent online occurrence involving the Professional Committee on the Science of Literacy and Human Resources of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism [1] and the “Editorial Committee for the Compilation of Achievements in Grassroots Party Building and Ideological and Political Work” [2] jointly issuing the “First Prize for Outstanding Achievements of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism” to relevant units, the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism hereby issues a solemn statement:

The Professional Committee on the Science of Literacy and Human Resources of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism was abolished in 2019. Since that time, any activities carried out in the name of the Professional Committee on the Science of Literacy and Human Resources of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism, and all consequences arising therefrom, have no connection to the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism.

This statement is hereby issued.
