Call for Papers: The 15th Academic Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism

To profoundly study and interpret Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to deeply grasp the internal logic and contemporary value of the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism, to thoroughly explore the significant achievements and fundamental laws of the Party’s theoretical innovation in the New Era, and to enhance academic exchange among researchers of the Sinicization of Marxism nationwide, the 15th Academic Forum on the Sinicization of Marxism will be held in Chongqing on June 14, 2025. The forum is co-hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Chongqing University, and jointly organized by the Department of Sinicization of Marxism Research at the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, the School of Marxism at Chongqing University, and the School of Marxism at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It is co-sponsored by the CASS Think Tank for Marxist Theoretical Innovation, and the editorial departments of Marxism Studies (Makesizhuyi yanjiu), World Socialism Studies (Shijie shehuizhuyi yanjiu), and Equality and Justice Studies (Gongping zhengyi yanjiu). We now solicit papers from colleagues across the national academic community and welcome your participation through submission.

I. Forum Theme The "Two Combinations" [1] and the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism.

II. Time and Venue Forum Dates: June 13–15, 2025. Specifically, registration is on June 13 (Friday), the conference session is on June 14 (Saturday), and departure is on June 15 (Sunday). Venue: Chongqing University, Chongqing.

III. Forum Topics

  1. The rich connotations of the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism.
  2. Historical experience of the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism.
  3. Fundamental laws of the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism.
  4. Artificial Intelligence and the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism.
  5. The "Two Combinations" and the theoretical innovation of the Communist Party of China.
  6. The logical relationship between the "first combination" and the "second combination."
  7. The relationship between the "Two Combinations" and Xi Jinping Thought on Culture.
  8. The unique contemporary value of the "second combination."
  9. The internal logic of the Communist Party of China’s theoretical innovation in the New Era.

IV. Submission Requirements This forum adopts a "participation by paper" format. We sincerely invite researchers, teaching staff, and graduate students from national research institutions, universities, Party schools [2], and other units to actively submit. Deadline: May 15, 2025. Manuscript Requirements:

  1. Submissions must demonstrate a correct stance, distinct theme, rigorous logic, and the integration of history and theory [3]. They should reflect academic rigor and innovation, possessing high theoretical and practical value.
  2. Papers must be original, unpublished works, generally between 8,000 and 12,000 words. Please use footnotes; the specific format should follow the publication standards of Marxism Studies. A content abstract (approximately 300 words), keywords (3–5), a brief author biography, and detailed contact information must precede the main text.

Transportation, accommodation, and other expenses during the meeting are the responsibility of the participants. Following selection by the Expert Review Committee, the organizing committee will issue invitation letters to selected authors by May 31. Outstanding papers will be selected for recommended publication in Marxism Studies and World Socialism Studies.
