Call for Papers: The 17th National Forum for Young Scholars of Marxism
To deeply study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee [1], to deepen the systematic and theoretical research and interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, to provide spiritual and cultural support for Chinese-path modernization, and to promote learning and exchange among young Marxist scholars nationwide, the 17th National Forum for Young Marxist Scholars will be held from May 16 to 18, 2025, in Jiaozuo, Henan Province. This forum is co-hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Henan Polytechnic University, and jointly organized by the Editorial Department of Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi yanjiu) and the School of Marxism at Henan Polytechnic University. We are now soliciting papers from young Marxist scholars across the country and welcome your participation through submission.
I. Forum Theme The Original Contributions of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture
II. Time and Location Forum Dates: May 16–18, 2025. Specifically: Registration on May 16 (Friday); Official Conference on May 17 (Saturday); Departure on May 18 (Sunday). Location: Henan Polytechnic University (Jiaozuo).
III. Forum Topics
- Research on the cultural theories of classical Marxist writers.
- Research on the fundamental theory of civilization and the New Outlook on Civilization [2].
- Research on the core tenets and scientific system of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture.
- Research on upholding the Party’s cultural leadership [3].
- Research on the “Two Combinations” [4] and the new cultural body [5].
- Research on consolidating the subjectivity of Chinese culture.
- Research on the creative transformation and innovative development of fine traditional Chinese culture [6].
- Research on the cultural forms of Chinese-path modernization.
IV. Submission Requirements This conference adopts the method of “invitation based on submission.” Invitations will be sent to authors whose papers pass expert review. Submitted papers should ideally be between 10,000 and 15,000 Chinese characters in length. They must feature distinct themes, correct viewpoints, and clear argumentation, reflecting both academic rigor and innovation, and must be previously unpublished. The main text should be preceded by an abstract (approx. 300 characters), keywords (3–5), and an author profile (name, gender, age, affiliation, professional title, position, mailing address, telephone number, and email address). The formatting should follow the submission guidelines of Marxist Studies.

No conference fees will be charged for this forum. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation costs. Following the selection by the expert review committee, the organizing committee will issue formal invitations to selected authors by May 5.
