Call for Papers: The 12th Forum on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

In order to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and further advance the research and interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Zhejiang University of Technology intend to jointly host a forum titled "Research on the Systematization and Academic Substantiation [1] of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture." We cordially invite experts and scholars in relevant domestic fields to take the time to attend. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

I. Conference Theme The theme of this conference is: Research on the Systematization and Academic Substantiation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture. Centering on this theme, the focus will be on investigating the following issues:

  1. Research on the systematization of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture;
  2. Research on the academic interpretation and substantiation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture;
  3. Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and the New Form of Human Civilization;
  4. Research on cultivating and practicing Core Socialist Values;
  5. Research on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation [2];
  6. Research on constructing a Chinese discourse and Chinese narrative system;
  7. Research on undertaking the cultural mission of the New Era and strengthening cultural confidence [3];
  8. Research on the exploration and practice of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture in Zhejiang;
  9. Research on other related issues.

II. Time and Location Conference Timing: Registration on June 6, 2025 (Friday); Sessions on June 7 (Saturday); Departure on June 8 (Sunday). Conference Location: Zhejiang University of Technology (Hangzhou, Zhejiang).

III. Paper Requirements and Formatting Participation in this forum is contingent upon paper submission; please write your paper centering on the conference theme. Submitted papers must be original, unpublished scientific research achievements with a correct political orientation [4], possessing high academic and theoretical value, conforming to academic standards, and ideally totaling approximately 10,000 characters.

Please refer to the submission format of Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu) for the paper style and layout. Please attach the author’s name, institutional affiliation, position and title, telephone number, email, and mailing address at the end of the document. Applicants should send their papers to the email address xsxluntan@163.com by May 20, 2025.

IV. Related Expenses This seminar charges no fees. The organizers will bear the costs of meals during the conference, while participants are responsible for their own accommodation and round-trip transportation expenses.
