2025 Postdoctoral Recruitment Announcement of the Academy of Marxism
I. Recruitment Conditions
- Applicants must hold the nationality of the People’s Republic of China (including residents of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), uphold the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, abide by national laws and regulations, possess good ideological and moral character, adhere to the correct political direction, academic orientation, and value orientation, and maintain integrity and self-discipline.
- Applicants must be born on or after January 1, 1990.
- Applicants must hold a doctoral degree. The awarding institution should be a "Double First-Class" [1] construction university, or a key scientific research institute such as the Central Party School, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), or the Chinese Academy of Sciences (including doctoral graduates from universities ranked among the top 200 globally in comprehensive or subject-specific rankings).
- During their doctoral studies, applicants should have published at least two academic papers in core journals as a sole author or first author. For those without published papers, their doctoral dissertation must have been evaluated as "Excellent." For those who obtained their doctorate abroad, publication requirements are not strictly enforced. The scope of core journals refers to the Overview of the Essentials of Chinese Core Journals, the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI), and the Evaluation Report on Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journals.
- Individuals who have been selected for the International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program (Talent Introduction Program), the HKSAR Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (Xiangjiang Scholars Program), the Macao Young Scholars Program, the Sino-German Postdoctoral Exchange Program, or other various national postdoctoral introduction and dispatch programs (excluding the Academic Exchange Program of the International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program) may not apply.
- Applicants may not apply to a postdoctoral research station [2] within the same primary discipline [3] of the unit that conferred their doctoral degree; they may not apply for a postdoctoral position at the same research institute that conferred their doctoral degree; and they may not apply for their doctoral supervisor to continue serving as their postdoctoral cooperating mentor.
- Postdoctoral fellows must engage in research work full-time and off-the-job during their tenure at the station; part-time postdoctoral researchers will not be recruited. The tenure at the station is generally two years.

IV. Funding, Compensation, and Support Measures Daily Postdoctoral Expenses: For Nationally Funded Postdoctoral Fellows (categories B and C), funds cover wages, bonuses, living subsidies, and social insurance during the tenure. Category B receives 180,000 RMB/year, and Category C receives 120,000 RMB/year, with a funding period of two years. Scientific Research Funding: For Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Postdoctoral Innovation Research Projects, the matching research project funding during the tenure will be no lower than the standard for Nationally Funded Postdoctoral Categories B and C. Postdoctoral Apartments: Rental apartments will be provided for eligible postdoctoral fellows. Postdoctoral Fund Projects: During their tenure, postdoctoral fellows may apply for the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation: Special Funding is 150,000 RMB, and General Funding (Face-to-face Funding) is 50,000 RMB.
V. Recruitment Process and Submission of Materials (i) Recruitment Process
- Applicants submit application materials to the designated email address within the period specified in the recruitment announcement.
- The Institute [4] will establish an expert review group to assess the applicant’s comprehensive quality, academic level, and scientific research capability through interviews, defenses, and other formats.
- Those who pass the review will be recommended to the National Postdoctoral Regulatory Commission for selection.
- The National Postdoctoral Regulatory Commission implements categorized and graded funding based on the principles of "individual application, unit recommendation, expert review, and selecting the best for support."
- Personnel selected for the "Nationally Funded Postdoctoral" plan must complete station entry procedures within three months of selection.
(ii) Materials to be Submitted by Applicants (Electronic versions are sufficient)
- Application form for the Nationally Funded Postdoctoral Researcher Program (Categories B and C) (Attachment 1).
- Scanned copies of the doctoral graduation certificate and doctoral degree certificate, or the doctoral dissertation defense resolution and a certificate from the Degree Office.
- Two representative published academic works (electronic version).
- Scanned copies of the Identity Card and Household Registration (Hukou) booklet (or card). Applicants should package the electronic versions of the above materials and send them to the mailbox: myybsh@cass.org.cn before April 20, 2025, noting "Nationally Funded Postdoctoral Application (Name)" in the email subject. After the review by our unit is completed, the office of this station will be responsible for the unified destruction and deletion of all applicants' materials.
(iii) Recruitment Schedule
- From the date of the announcement until April 22, applicants submit materials.
- Before April 25, the Institute’s postdoctoral research station will organize an expert review group for assessment, determine the recommended candidates, and organize the candidates to perform online system applications.
