May Fourth Youth Medal of the Central and State Organs Qu Shenning Researcher and Deputy Director of the Emerging Industries Research Department, Institute of Industrial Economics

Qu Shenning always keeps in mind that academic research and theoretical innovation constitute the core duty of scientific researchers in building the cause of propaganda, ideology, and culture in the New Era. He has actively undertaken a series of major scientific research projects and published more than 70 high-level academic papers. Simultaneously, closely aligning with the orientation of think-tank work, he has conducted in-depth exploration and research on major economic reality issues of concern to the Party and the State, actively contributing wisdom and advice to central decision-making departments in fields such as emerging industries and industries of the future. He maintains firm political beliefs and an international perspective, deepening the external promotion of Chinese manufacturing in conjunction with his own work, and telling the story of Chinese manufacturing led by the Chinese Dream. His relevant research results have multiple times received affirmative instructions [4], won more than 10 provincial and ministerial-level awards as well as several important professional prizes, and he has been granted multiple national and Academy-level talent titles.

May Fourth Youth Medal of the Central and State Organs Fu Wei Associate Researcher, Institute of Sociology

Fu Wei adheres to the academic philosophy of "seeking knowledge from reality" [5] and the academic sentiment of focusing on "the Greatness of the Nation" [6]. He strives to take root at the grassroots level and promotes the deep integration of scientific research and practice. During his temporary posting [7] for training in Haining City, Zhejiang Province, he entered the daily lives of the masses in an all-around way through the method of "eating and living together," actively participating in various affairs of village-level grassroots governance. After the temporary posting ended, he continued to participate in long-term policy research in that area, and his relevant research results have been affirmed by relevant departments in Zhejiang Province and elsewhere. Every summer, he leads CASS university students to provide services such as psychological counseling for youth, after-school tutoring, and village surveys for Haining. In the fiery practice of the grassroots, he has tempered his skills and practiced his original aspiration and founding mission. Combining his reflections from his grassroots posting and service, he has published multiple theoretical articles in important journals such as Social Sciences in China, Sociological Studies, and Guangming Daily. He has participated many times in major commissioned tasks, and the internal reports he submitted have received affirmative instructions on numerous occasions.

May Fourth Youth Medal Collective of the Central and State Organs Xia-Shang-Zhou Archaeology Department, Institute of Archaeology

The Xia-Shang-Zhou Archaeology Department attaches great importance to the building of Party organizations, using the Party’s theory to arm their minds and guide their work. They conscientiously implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions and comments on cultural relics and archaeological work, and remain true to their original aspiration in pursuing the cause of archaeology. Members of the collective, especially young cadres, have long been rooted in field work—enduring the solitude of "green lamps and yellow scrolls" [8] and dedicating themselves to the grassroots—assisting in the protection of local cultural heritage through archaeological research. They possess profound patriotic sentiments, firm academic ambitions, and a resilient academic style, focusing on major academic problems of concern to the State and the people, overcoming difficulties, and achieving significant results. They emphasize the cultivation of young cadres and scholars, fostering a strong atmosphere of "mentorship for growth" (the veteran passing experience to the novice) within the collective.

It is hoped that all young people in the Academy will take the award-winning comrades as examples, consciously integrate their personal "small selves" into the "greater self" of the motherland, and hold the sacred duty of serving the General Secretary and the Party Central Committee above all else, carrying it on their shoulders and in their hearts. They should firm up their lofty ideals of serving the country through scholarship, cultivate a "family-and-country" sentiment [9] of conducting scientific research for the people, and strive to grow into a "Young Iron Army" [10] characterized by faith, sentiment, integrity, and responsibility. This will contribute youthful strength to opening up a new realm for the prosperity and development of Chinese philosophy and social sciences and to accelerating the construction of China’s independent knowledge system.
