Call for Papers: The 18th National Forum for Young Scholars of Marxism
The year 2026 marks the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan" [1] and the tenth anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s "May 17" important speech [2]. In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s "May 17" important speech; to advance the systematic research and academic interpretation of the Party’s innovative theories in the New Era; and to promote learning and exchange among young Marxist scholars across the country, the 18th National Forum for Young Marxist Scholars is scheduled to be held from March 27 to 29, 2026, in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The forum is co-hosted by the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Central China Normal University (CCNU), and jointly organized by the School of Marxism at Central China Normal University, the Periodical Branch of the Social Sciences Academic Press, and the Editorial Department of Marxism Studies (Makezhuyishi Yanjiu). We are now soliciting papers from young Marxist scholars across the country and welcome participation through paper submission.
I. Forum Theme Research and Interpretation of the Systematic and Academic Nature of the Party’s Innovative Theories
II. Time and Venue Forum Date: March 27–29, 2026. Specifically: registration on March 27 (Friday), official sessions on March 28 (Saturday), and departure on March 29 (Sunday). Forum Venue: Central China Normal University (Wuhan, Hubei).
III. Forum Topics
- Research on the identifying concepts and original theories of the Party’s innovative theories.
- Research on Marxism and the construction of an independent knowledge system for Chinese philosophy and social sciences.
- Research on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
- Research on the worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
- Research on strengthening the Party's overall leadership and Party building.
- Research on comprehensively deepening reform and high-quality development.
- Research on major theoretical and practical issues of Chinese-path modernization.
- Research on the scientific system and original contributions of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture.
- Research on the "Two Combinations" [3] and the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism.
- Research on mutual learning between civilizations and the new form of human civilization.
IV. Manuscript Requirements This conference adopts the method of "participation based on submission." After expert review, invitations will be sent to authors of selected papers. Submitted papers should ideally be between 10,000 and 15,000 Chinese characters, featuring a distinct theme, correct viewpoints, and clear argumentation. They must demonstrate academic rigor and innovation and should not have been previously published. The main text should be preceded by an abstract (approximately 300 words), keywords (3–5), and an author profile (name, gender, age, institutional affiliation, academic title, position, mailing address, telephone number, and email). The main text should follow the submission style guide of Marxism Studies.

No registration fee will be charged for this forum. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses. Following selection by the expert review committee, the organizing committee will send official invitations to the selected authors by March 10.
