Recruitment Announcement for Non-Staff Personnel of the Academy of Marxism
The Institute of Marxism Studies (IMS) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) is a national-level Marxist research institution. It comprises five research departments, including the Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Department of Marxist Principles, the Department of the Sinicization of Marxism, the Department of the International Communist Movement, and the Department of Foreign Marxist Studies, totaling 19 research offices. It sponsors seven publications, including Marxist Studies, as well as websites such as the Marxist Research Network. Based on operational requirements, the institute now intends to recruit two non-career-track [1] personnel. The specific details of the announcement are as follows:
I. Basic Recruitment Conditions
- Must hold the nationality of the People's Republic of China;
- Possess firm political stances, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the socialist system, profoundly grasp the decisive significance of the Two Establishments, strengthen the Four Consciousnesses [2], firm up the Four Confidences [3], and achieve the Two Upholds, maintaining a high degree of alignment in ideology, politics, and action with the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core;
- Possess physical and mental health, upright character, dedication to the post, and excellent professional literacy and teamwork spirit;
- Possess the professional capabilities or skill conditions required for the position;
- Comply with other conditions stipulated by the state and the Office of the Institute of Marxism Studies. Applicants may not apply for recruitment positions that would constitute a conflict of interest [4] upon employment.
II. Recruitment Positions and Requirements
- New Media Editor Position: Responsible for the daily editing work of the IMS website and new media platforms, image processing, and video production.
- Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree or higher; graduating students should, in principle, obtain their academic credentials and degrees before July 31, 2026.
- Applicants must be no older than 38 years of age.
- Majors in Marxist theory, journalism and communication, or information technology-related fields.
- Proficient in software such as PS, Lr, Pr, and Ae for post-processing of images and video editing.
- A passion for website editing, strong editing capabilities, and experience in operating government affairs or cultural new media.
- Meticulous and earnest in work, with a sense of responsibility and awareness of teamwork.
- For non-graduating students, at least one year of editing experience is required.
- CPC members are preferred.
III. Recruitment Procedures
- Online Application. Please download and complete the "Institute of Marxism Studies Applicant Registration Form" (see attachment) and send the form via email to mayanwang@cass.org.cn. The electronic filename of the registration form and the email subject should be uniformly titled "Recruitment Application: Name + Position Applied For."
- Qualification Review. A qualification review will be conducted for applicants in accordance with the recruitment conditions and requirements; those who do not pass the qualification review will not be further notified.
- Examination. Written examinations and interviews will be conducted for those who pass the review; specific times and locations will be notified separately.
- Job Fit Assessment. Applicants will be arranged for a one-month job fit assessment to further confirm whether they meet the post's operational requirements.
- Physical Examination. Applicants will be directed to a designated hospital for a physical examination.
- Political Investigation [5]. For those who pass the physical examination, psychological evaluation, review of application qualifications, and a political investigation will be conducted.
- Deliberation and Determination of Candidates. Based on a comprehensive assessment of the examination, internship, physical and psychological evaluations, and political investigation, the CPC Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies will collectively deliberate to determine the proposed candidates.
- Public Notification. The details of the proposed candidates will be publicized for a period of five working days.
- Formal Employment Procedures. The Institute of Marxism Studies will sign employment contracts with the selected personnel and manage the entry and reporting procedures.
