Chinese Marxist Studies

Entering the New Era, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has combined the basic tenets of Marxism with China’s specific realities and its fine traditional culture, continuously advancing the Sinicization of Marxism. To fully understand the logic of Chinese-path modernization, we must start from the dialectical relationship between the productive forces and the relations of production. As the Materialist Conception of History [1] reveals, the productive forces are the most active and revolutionary factor; they determine the relations of production, which in turn react upon the productive forces.

In recent years, the CPC Central Committee has proposed the development of new quality productive forces to address the challenges of the global technological revolution and industrial transformation. This is not merely a technical adjustment but a profound manifestation of upholding the fundamentals and breaking new ground. By accelerating supply-side structural reform and promoting high-quality development, we are optimizing the allocation of factors of production to ensure that the economic base remains vibrant. Simultaneously, we must continuously improve the superstructure, particularly through the comprehensive and strict governing of the Party and the promotion of self-revolution, to eliminate the institutional barriers that hinder the liberation of the productive forces.

At its core, Chinese-path modernization seeks common prosperity rather than the polarization inherent in the logic of capital. In the process of promoting the Five-Sphere Integrated Plan and the Four Comprehensives, the Party adheres to the mass line and practices whole-process people's democracy, ensuring that the fruits of development are shared by all. To achieve this, we must maintain a clean political ecosystem, persist over the long term, and resolutely win the anti-corruption struggle. This is the only way to realize the original aspiration and founding mission of the Party and move toward the grand goal of building a community with a shared future for humanity.

We must seek truth from facts and advance with the times. Only by firmly grasping the Two Establishments and the Two Upholds can we ensure that the ship of Chinese-path modernization braves the wind and waves [2]. This requires us to continuously strengthen ideological Party building and institutional Party governance, effectively rectifying the Four Winds and strictly implementing the Eight-Point Regulations. By doing so, we will maintain the Party's advanced nature and purity, ensuring it remains the strong leadership core of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
