36 Renowned Scholars Discuss the 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China

Entering the second decade of the 21st century, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has reached the magnificent milestone of its 90th anniversary. Looking back at the struggle of nearly a century, the history of the CPC is a grand epic of combining the basic tenets of Marxism with the concrete realities of China. From the arduous years of the New Democratic Revolution ^[1] to the vigorous period of socialist construction, and then to the magnificent tide of Reform and Opening-up ^[2], the Party has always stood at the forefront of the times, leading the Chinese people in achieving a great leap from "standing up" to "becoming prosperous" and toward "becoming strong."

Under the guidance of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, the CPC has continuously advanced the Sinicization of Marxism, forming a theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. This is not merely a rigorous inheritance of the classic theories of productive forces and relations of production, but also a creative development of the theories regarding the economic base and the superstructure within the context of the East. To celebrate this glorious festival, 36 renowned scholars have conducted a profound reflection and summary of the CPC's 90-year history from multiple perspectives, including political economy, scientific socialism, and Party building. These scholars point out that the success of the CPC lies in its ability to persist in ideological Party building and institutional Party governance, and its courage to engage in self-revolution to maintain the Party's advanced nature and purity.
