About the Author Xin Xiangyang, born in 1965 in Anqiu, Shandong Province, holds a Doctorate in Law. He currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Deputy Director of the Department of Marxist Development Studies at the Institute of Marxism Studies. He is a research fellow and doctoral supervisor. His primary research achievements include over 15 individual monographs, such as Future Economics, New Theory of Government, Studies on the "Convergence Theory", The Dukes of a Great Power, Decisions Behind the Red Wall, A Century of Gambling: 100 Years of Relations Between China’s Central and Local Governments, Interpreting China, and The First Piece of Government Theory: Interpreting Locke’s Second Treatise of Government. He has edited or co-authored over 20 works, including An Overview of Domestic and International Democratic Theories, Capital China, Thirty Years of Theoretical Innovation in Marxism, and Research on the Party's Ideological and Theoretical Construction in the New Century and New Stage. He has published over 400 articles in newspapers and journals such as the People's Daily, Guangming Daily, Marxist Studies, and Teaching and Research, as well as the Journal of Renmin University of China. He has led or participated in more than 30 national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects and has received six national, provincial, and ministerial-level awards.
