Content Abstract

The 21st century is a period in which world socialism seeks revitalization through development and transformation. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has become a new bright spot in the development of world socialism, serving as its landmark reference system and mainstay. This collection of essays compiles papers on the study of socialism with Chinese characteristics published by the author over the past 20 years. The collection is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, primarily discussing the essence, connotation, and theoretical and practical significance of the theoretical achievements of the Sinicization of Marxism, such as Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Important Thought of the "Three Represents," ^[1] and the Scientific Outlook on Development. ^[2] The second part focuses on the theory and practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era, discussing the contributions of Xi Jinping客观 New Era Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics to scientific socialism and Marxism, as well as its contents regarding Party building and ideology.

Author Profile

Jiang Hui is a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Director of the Institute of Contemporary China (ICCS), Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies, a research fellow, and a doctoral supervisor. He also serves as the Executive Director of the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping New Era Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Director of the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and Deputy Director of the World Socialism Research Center. He is a National Expert with Outstanding Contributions, a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance, and has been selected for the National Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project. He is also recognized as a Cultural Master and "Four Batches" Talent ^[3] and a leading talent in philosophy and social sciences under the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program." Furthermore, he serves as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Central Project to Study and Build Marxist Theory and a member of the Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. He serves as Vice President of the Chinese Association for Scientific Socialism and Vice President of the Chinese Society of CPC History. He has long been engaged in research on Marxist theory, scientific socialism and the international communist movement, socialism with Chinese characteristics, and contemporary world socialism. He has published numerous monographs, translations, and edited volumes, as well as more than 200 professional papers.
