This book primarily responds to the fundamental basis for Socialism with Chinese Characteristics entering the New Era, elucidating its core connotations and basic characteristics. It reveals the international significance and political advantages of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, points out the nature and historical role of China's great social transformation in this period, and analyzes the strategic opportunities faced as well as the major issues to be resolved. Author Biography Xin Xiangyang is the Deputy Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Deputy Director of the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Executive Deputy Director of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era Research Center, and Deputy Director of the World Socialism Research Center. He is a Level-2 Research Fellow and doctoral supervisor. Since 2012, he has received the State Council Government Special Allowance [1]. In 2015, he was selected for the Publicity and Culture System "Four Batons of Talent" [2] project by the Central Propaganda Department. In 2016, he was selected as a leading talent in the "Ten Thousand Talents Program" [3] by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Human resources and Social Security. He serves as a judge for the National Social Science Fund of China and the National Publication Foundation. He is also a specially invited researcher for the China Research Society of Ideological and Political Work and the National Association of Party Building Research. He has published 21 monographs, edited or co-authored over 50 books, and published more than 500 articles in newspapers and journals such as the People's Daily, Guangming Daily, Marxist Studies, and Studies on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. He has presided over and participated in more than 50 national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects, winning 15 national and provincial-level awards.
