↩ [1] 任继愈 (Rèn Jìyù): A preeminent Chinese philosopher and historian of religion. He served as the director of the National Library of China and was a key figure in applying historical materialism to the study of Buddhism and Taoism in China. He famously argued that Confucianism functioned as a religion in imperial China.

↩ [2] 李慎明 (Lǐ Shènmíng): A high-ranking scholar-official who served as Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He is known for his work in ideological defense and Marxist theory.

↩ [3] 建国六十年 (jiànguó liùshí nián): Refers to the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (1949–2009). In Chinese political discourse, "founding the state" (jiànguó) specifically refers to the establishment of the socialist state under the CPC.
