↩ [1] 党员不能信教 (dǎngyuán bùnéng xìnjiào): This refers to a long-standing disciplinary requirement of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Although the Chinese Constitution guarantees "freedom of religious belief" for citizens, the CPC maintains that Party members must be "uncompromising Marxists" and "thoroughgoing atheists." This internal discipline is often emphasized to prevent religious influence from compromising the Party's ideological purity or organizational discipline.

↩ [2] 社会主义核心价值观 (shèhuì zhǔyì héxīn jiàzhígūan): The Socialist Core Values consist of 12 values officially promoted by the CPC since the 18th Party Congress in 2012. They are divided into three levels: the national level (prosperity, democracy, civility, and harmony), the social level (freedom, equality, justice, and the rule of law), and the individual level (patriotism, dedication, integrity, and friendship).
