Xi Jinping Economic Thought is a vital component of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It represents the latest theoretical achievement in the Sinicization and modernization of Marxist political economy and serves as a systematic theoretical generalization of the practical experience of our country's economic development in the New Era. Further deepening the systematic and academic research and interpretation of Xi Jinping Economic Thought is an inevitable requirement for advancing theoretical innovation and an inherent necessity for constructing an independent knowledge system of Chinese economics.
Xi Jinping Economic Thought is the manifestation of the outcomes achieved by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core as it continuously advances theoretical, practical, and institutional innovation within the economic field; it provides methodological guidance for constructing an independent knowledge system of Chinese economics. The Party's innovative theories constitute a scientific, logically rigorous, and organically unified whole. We must place emphasis on strengthening systematic and academic research and interpretation, and systematically categorize its holistic and logical characteristics. We must deeply research the relationship between Xi Jinping Economic Thought and Marxist economic theory—noting how the former is both a direct continuation [1] of the latter and an instance of advancing with the times—to systematically master and profoundly explain the deep underlying principles, profound academic logic, and deep philosophical truths therein, thereby demonstrating the powerful vitality, creativity, and appeal of the Party's innovative theories.
The Party's innovative theories originate from practice and in turn guide practice; therefore, we must profoundly summarize the practical experience of promoting economic development in the New Era. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC [2], the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has based its actions on the overall strategic situation of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the world's profound changes unseen in a century [3]. It has profoundly grasped new changes in the situation and new requirements of practice, systematically summarized the practical experience of our country's economic development, and continuously deepened the understanding of the laws governing economic work. It has proposed a series of new concepts, new ideas, and new strategies, leading our country's economic development to achieve historical achievements and undergo historical transformations. The balance, coordination, and sustainability of our country's economic development have been significantly enhanced; the nation's economic, scientific, and comprehensive national strength have leapt to new heights; and Chinese-path modernization has taken solid strides. The scientific content and practical requirements of Xi Jinping Economic Thought are continuously enriched and developed, leading the Chinese economy to seize the initiative and win the future on a new and great journey.
The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee [4] continued to identify the promotion of high-quality development as the theme of economic and social development during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. This requires us to further understanding and grasping Xi Jinping Economic Thought deeply in both theory and practice, and to effectively study and utilize this "golden key" for promoting high-quality development. We must elevate feasible measures that have been tested in practice and are conducive to promoting high-quality development to the heights of theory and the level of academic scholarship. By doing so, we will coalesce the wisdom and strength of the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country, ensuring that decisive progress is made toward the basic realization of socialist modernization.
