Call for Papers: The 19th Symposium of the Chinese Association for the History of Foreign Economic Theories
In order to explore international and domestic economic development under the new global economic landscape, to persist in and develop Marxist economics, and to conduct in-depth research and correctly draw lessons from foreign economic theories, the Chinese Society of Foreign Economic Theories (中华外国经济学说研究会) and Northwest University are initiating an academic symposium titled "Foreign Economic Theories and the New Landscape of Domestic and International Economic Development." The conference will be hosted by the School of Economics and Management at Northwest University and is scheduled to be held from October 29–30, 2011 (weekend) at Northwest University in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. The topics of the conference are as follows:
- Research on Western economic theories, policies, and the history of economic thought;
- The current international economic landscape and the reconstruction of order;
- Research on shifting China's internal and external modes of economic development;
- Adjusting the structure of ownership and income distribution policies.
We are now soliciting papers on the above topics from the directors of this Society and colleagues in economics nationwide. Papers are required to take Marxist economics as their guide, possess a prominent theme, demonstrate rigorous argumentation, follow standard writing conventions, and exhibit academic innovation. After a review process, we will issue formal invitations to the authors of selected papers. Outstanding papers will be recommended for publication in major journals such as the World Review of Political Economy (an international English-language journal), Marxism Studies (《马克思主义研究》), Economic Perspectives (《经济学动态》), and Contemporary Economic Research (《当代经济研究》). Selected papers will be compiled into a collection of proceedings to be published by the Social Sciences Academic Press (社会科学文献出版社).
Submissions must include two versions: a full-text manuscript and a condensed manuscript not exceeding 4,500 words. Both must include a brief author biography, contact phone number, mailing address, postal code, and email address at the end of the text. Please send both to houwm@vip.163.com.
