Call for Papers: The 20th Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Association for the History of Foreign Economic Theories

In order to uphold and develop Marxist economics [1], and to conduct in-depth research and correctly draw upon foreign economic theories, the Chinese Association for the Research of Foreign Economic Theories and Beijing Normal University will jointly hold the academic symposium "Foreign Economic Theories and the Contemporary World Economy," which concurrently serves as the 20th Annual Conference of the Chinese Association for the Research of Foreign Economic Theories. The conference is hosted by the School of Economics and Business Administration of Beijing Normal University and co-organized by the Zhuhai Campus of Beijing Normal University. It is scheduled to be held in Zhuhai from December 1st to 2nd, 2012.

Centered on the conference theme, this meeting will deliberate on the following key topics:

  1. Research on foreign economic theories
  2. Fiscal deficits, government debt, and economic crises
  3. The transformation of the mode of economic development [2] and the choice of economic models
  4. China’s economic growth and economic fluctuations

We are now soliciting papers on the above topics from economics colleagues across the country. Submissions are required to take Marxist economics as their guide, demonstrate academic innovation, and follow standard writing conventions. After a peer-review process, we will send formal invitations to the authors of selected papers. Outstanding papers will be recommended for publication in important journals such as Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu), Economic Perspectives (Jingjixue Dongtai), Contemporary Economic Research (Dangdai Jingji Yanjiu), and Shanghai School of Economics (Haipai Jingjixue, quarterly). Selected papers will be compiled into a collection and published by the Social Sciences Academic Press [3].

Submissions must include two versions: a full-text manuscript not exceeding 15,000 words and a condensed version not exceeding 5,000 words. Both versions must include at the end of the text a brief author biography, contact phone number, mailing address, postal code, and email address. These should be sent to the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
