Call for Papers: The 22nd Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Society for the History of Foreign Economic Doctrines

To uphold and develop Marxist economics, and to conduct in-depth research and correctly draw lessons [1] from foreign economic theories, the Chinese Association for Foreign Economic Theories and Nanjing Normal University will jointly host the "Foreign Economic Theories and China's Economic Development" Academic Symposium, concurrently the 22nd Annual Conference of the Chinese Association for Foreign Economic Theories. The conference is organized by the School of Business at Nanjing Normal University and is scheduled to be held from November 15–16, 2014 (Saturday and Sunday) in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

Focusing on the main theme of the conference, this meeting will prioritize the study of the following topics:

  1. A comparison between Marxist economics and Western economics
  2. Research on the history of foreign economic thought
  3. Research on new developments in Western economics
  4. Debates within Western economic circles regarding the relationship between the market and the government
  5. Research on comprehensively deepening the reform of China's economic system [2]
  6. Research on China's economic development and the global economic structure

We are currently soliciting papers from economics colleagues across the country on the above topics. Submissions are required to take Marxist economics as their guide, demonstrate academic innovation, and adhere to standard writing conventions. Following a review process, formal invitations will be sent to the authors of selected papers. Outstanding papers will be recommended for publication in important journals such as Marxist Studies (Mǎkèsī Zhǔyì Yánjiū), Economic Perspectives (Jīngjìxué Dòngtài), Contemporary Economic Research (Dāngdài Jīngjì Yánjiū), and Shanghai School of Economics (Hǎipài Jīngjìxué, quarterly). Selected papers will be compiled into a collection to be published by the Social Sciences Academic Press (China) [3].

Submissions should include two copies: one full-text manuscript and one condensed version not exceeding 5,000 words. Both must include a brief author biography, contact phone number, mailing address, postal code, and email address at the end of the text.
